"Today I think I was there. Even for moments he played so good from the baseline, I was there trying to stop his aggressive shots and don't losing court, don't losing meters behind the baseline, not too many. That's important change for me. Anything can happen, no? You can win, you can lose these kind of matches. Decides in a few points. In the second set, he could win the second set for sure, no? Finally I won. Today was for me."

"My first serve wasn't really great, but I've really been working on my second serve. Hasn't been great all tournament, so I've been kind of relying on my second serve. Also my whole game. I've been relying on my groundstrokes, forehand, backhand. My returns have really picked up. All around, I feel like she's a great all-around player. So I feel like I had to be on it all around today."

"I feel like I have all the tools to go further, and my job isn't over yet. I'm looking forward to my match on Friday. I think I'm prepared. I think I'm ready to go the distance. I don't shy away from that. I'm confident enough to say that I feel good physically, and overall like on the court. Just going forward with the confidence that I have built up also from the previous tournament. Now with each match I've been feeling better and better. It just all comes pretty natural right now."

"It will be great to see an American in the final. Obviously I would love to be that American in the final. Regardless, there's going to be an American whose name is not Serena Williams, which I think will be pretty awesome."

"Every day I've played. I haven't had a day off in weeks. I don't know the last time I had a day off. I played every day singles and doubles. I'm going to be just fine. I'm going to recover, do some therapy, and I'll be fine. I'll just put some extra tapes on and hopefully it will hold me together. I'll fight hard. I'll be okay."

"This time, it's incredibly special, especially since it's been so long since the last time I've been in semifinals. And the struggle has been so much bigger, and nobody in this world thought I could ever be here again, beside my closest family, my coach, and my brothers, my sisters, my husband, my mom. Beside my little circle, I don't think anybody believed that I could do it. And it's really fun. It's fun to prove everybody wrong, and it's fun to enjoy this for myself and live these incredible moments. It's more special this time, for sure."

"I had a lot of anxiety coming into this event. More than anything, you don't want to look silly out there, walk out on the court and just not play well because you just aren't prepared. So definitely not an ideal road to start the year. No matches, withdrawing with injury. It's stressful. Then to be sitting here, I'm like, All right, it's all good."

"To me, the semifinals is a steppingstone, just like the other rounds. It's an opportunity to advance. The tournament is by no means over. It's definitely down to the business end."

"Maybe I play better nervous and scared. I don't know. I think I don't shy away from a challenge necessarily. I never have. Growing up, I've always just been wanting to prove people wrong in a lot of different regards. I think it's more I take it as a challenge. I take it as an enjoyable challenge. It's what I want to do. It's where I want to be. To face the best players is definitely an accomplishment, to say for myself that I've gotten to the point that I've beat and face these top players."

"I felt I was always going to be dangerous on any given day in a match situation. But obviously as the tournament would progress, maybe I would fade away with energy, you know, that kind of stuff. I think now that I'm in the semis, feeling as good as I am, playing as good as I am, that's a huge surprise to me."

"Again, I think today was my best match of the tournament. Was great focus all the match. I find a way to break him few times also. I'm really happy, really happy to get in semifinal again. It's a great result….It's great to see what I've done in the off-season. It was some good work that I'm feeling good on the court, that I'm strong enough to beat some tough player and make another semifinal."
