On the Beyond the Baseline Podcast, Sports Illustrated executive editor, Tennis Channel commentator and host Jon Wertheim takes fans between the lines with tennis commentary and exclusive interviews with the top players and newsmakers on the ATP and WTA tours.

On this week's episode, Wertheim talks with former ATP player and University of Virginia college player Brian Vahaly. Now working in finance as a venture capitalist, Wertheim talks with 37-year-old Vahaly on his post-playing days, how he made the transition into his current role, what he thinks looking back on his tennis career, his current relationship with the sport in retirement and more. Vahaly also talks about his involvement with the USTA as a member of the Board of Directors.

Vahaly also discusses his life after he retired from six years on the ATP Tour and how when he stopped playing competitively and left the game he was forced to come to terms with things about himself, including his happiness, his career aspirations and his sexuality. Vahaly talks about his marriage to his husband, Bill, two years ago, their 10-month old twin boys, the surrogate process and how his life has changed since his children entered his life.
