Travis Pastrana

He provided the highlight of the X Games with a gold-medal-winning double backflip during the MotoX Best Trick competition. It was the first time anyone had landed a double backflip in X Games history. Pastrana also won gold at the Moto X Freestyle and inaugural rally car "Super Special" race.

Adam Jones

He had one of the Games' more unique runs in the Moto X Freestyle competition, which featured a dead body, a kiss of death, a backflip cordova, a cliffhanger and a backflip can-can to a saran wrap. Unfortunately, Jones had to settle for silver as he couldn't top gold-medal-winner Travis Pastrana.

He became the first competitor in nine years not named Dave Mirra or Jamie Bestwick to win first place in the BMX Vert competition after landing the first flatspin barspin in X Games history.

E.T. could learn a few tricks from Robinson, whose backflip tuck, no-hander to no-handed flair won the inaugural BMX Freestyle Big-Air competition. Robinson also struck gold at the BMX Freestyle Vert Best Trick contest, winning a prize that had eluded him for more than a decade.

Jake Brown

The Aussie learned the hard way how difficult it is to beat the legendary Danny Way. Despite landing a mute grab backside three over the 70-foot gap and finishing with a McTwist off the pipe, Brown had to settle for silver as Way claimed the gold in the Skateboarding Big Air competition.

Shaun White

The Flying Tomato couldn't replicate his Olympic success, as his 23 failed attempts to become the first skater to land a triple-revolution 1080 spin at the Vert Best Trick competition left him medal-less once again in this year's Summer X Games.

Colin McRae

Only 100 yards stood between him and the gold medal in the inaugural rally car "Super Special" race when his car did a 360 flip. Undeterred, McRae regained control and finished in time to win silver.

X-Games icon Danny Way won his third consecutive Big-Air title, but nothing will ever top his legendary jump over the Great Wall of China on July 9, 2005 in Beijing, China.

Carey Hart

He has achieved mainstream popularity through his marriage to pop-star Pink, but Carey achieved fame long before he met Pink. Here, he performs his signature "Hart attack" trick at a 2000 Xtreme Games in Melbourne, Australia.

The King of the X-Games, Hawk won gold in Skateboarding Best Vert Trick at the 2001 X Games with his 900, which he invented.
