This isn't the first time cameras have caught Kenny Rogers with a foreign substance on his pitching hand. As you can see in photos 7 through 9, Rogers clearly had a similar substance beneath his thumb during Game 3 of the ALCS on Oct. 13. And in photo No. 10, from a July 20 start against the White Sox, there appears to be a trace of something in the same place.

On Sunday night in Game 2 of the World Series,FOX TV cameras caught a suspicious smudge on Kenny Rogers' left (pitching) hand during Game 2 of the World Series on Sunday. Rogers cleaned his hand before the second inning and proceeded to defeat the Cardinals, allowing only two hits and no runs in eight innings. "It was a big clump of dirt, and I wiped it off," Rogers said afterward.
