The 1991 Redskins had one of the best season in franchise history, finishing with a 17-2 record and a Super Bowl XXVI 37-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills behind the MVP performance of quarterback Mark Rypien.
In his 10th and final NFL season, Gerald Riggs scored two touchdowns in each of Washington's three playoff victories, including scoring plunges of one and two yards in the 37-24 victory over the Bills in the Metrodome.

Gary Clark finished with a game-high 114 receiving yards in Super Bowl XXVI and his 30-yard scoring reception against the Bills proved to be the winning touchdown.
A workhorse back who averaged 3.8 yards a carry and 9.1 per reception in a season in which he ran for 1,048 yards and made 34 catches for 308 yards, Earnest Byner was a key cog in the Redskins run to greatness.
Led by the likes of Charles Mann (71), Wilber Marshall and Darrell Green, the Redskins were third in the league in total defense in 1991.
