Joe Montana earned his second of three Super Bowl MVPs -- an NFL record. He completed 24 of 35 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 59 yards and an additional score.
San Francisco easily won Super Bowl XIX, 38-16. Roger Craig rushed for 58 yards and caught seven passes for 77 yards and also become the first player ever to score three touchdowns in a Super Bowl.

The game was advertised as a shootout, and statistically, it didn't fail. This was the first Super Bowl ever in which both quarterbacks -- Dan Marino and Joe Montana -- passed for over 300 yards.
Trailing Miami 10-7 after one quarter of play, the 49ers blew the game open with 21 straight points in the second quarter.
Running back Wendell Tyler didn't score in Super Bowl XIX, but he rushed 13 times for 65 yards and hauled in four passes for 70 yards.
