Steve Young clearly stepped out of Joe Montana's shadow by throwing a record six touchdown passes in San Francisco's 49-26 victory over San Diego. Young joined Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Emmitt Smith and Bart Starr as the only players to win the league MVP award and Super Bowl MVP in the same season.
