Best Dressed Teams
Montreal Canadiens
As vibrant as the team's storied history, although you do need to know French and hockey tradition to figure out what the logo means.
Boston Celtics
As green uniforms go, this one is king, and obviously fitting, given the team's name.
Kansas City Chiefs
Great color scheme (with blessed restraint in the use of yellow) and a simple, effective helmet logo.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Fresh, crisp and clean, the scheme harkens back to Brooklyn. The red numbers are a nice touch that makes for easy identification of that stiff who just let the ground ball go through his wickets.
Los Angeles Lakers
The team's name is an anomaly for Los Angeles, but thankfully they avoided aqua colors and nautical nuance nonsense. Their use of gold and purple is about as regal as you can get without losing your cool.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Blue and white are winter colors, and nothing says old time hockey quite like that crest. Just looking at it makes you want to put on the foil.
Oakland Raiders
The guy on the helmet looks like a space cadet or your weird Uncle Bob at a Halloween Party, but the silver and black scheme is totally killer.
Boston Red Sox
Neat, clean and old-timey. Perfect for Ye Olde Fenway Park.
Detroit Red Wings
Bold color scheme and famed winged-wheel logo that conjures Motown's automotive heritage. Sure beats a cartoon Studebaker with a hockey stick protruding from the trunk.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Strong and subtley menacing, and you gotta love the unsettling enigma of the logo on only one side of the helmet.
New York Yankees
Perfect for such a wealthy, corporate-scented team and still the best of the planet's pinstriped uniforms.
Detroit Lions
If you insist on wearing a feriocious animal logo, especially when you lose often, the silhouette on the helmet is the way to go.
Cleveland Browns
The fall colors shout "pigskin" while the helmet is a minimalist masterpiece that conveys the team's name.
New York Knicks
Considering what might have been, given the formal team name of Knickerbockers, these guys get off lucky. Very lucky. But there's probably a shaving theme ad tie-in on the horizon.
Boston Bruins
Hard to argue with black and gold, and the classic spoked B is an NHL classic. The alternate bear-head crest likely helps prevent forest fires.
San Francisco Giants
Excellent use of the black and orange worn by the San Francisco Giants without evoking Halloween. Barry Bonds has ably handled that task.
