A new Flight Simulator game, Avowed, Hellblade II, and Hollow Knight: Silksong are basically just the big-hitters we already know about that are launching on Game Pass day one.

Microsoft Flight Simulator made waves when it launched in 2020, and four years later we’re getting the 2024 edition, which comes with a bunch of new mission types, vehicles, and activities. All of that and, yes, it really can teach you how to pilot an actual airplane. I probably wouldn’t test that out in real life without some supervision if I were you, but the to-scale recreation of our planet is already enough reason to try Flight Simulator, and Flight Simulator 2024 promises even more features. And it’s on Game Pass! No brainer.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II

The sequel to Ninja Theory’s “triple-A indie” hit Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice releases this year, and the team has decided to swap which sides of the colon the title should be on, while also going all-in on making an actual triple-A game. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is highly anticipated and has been teased for several years now, but we haven’t actually seen any gameplay yet. Despite that, people are ravenous to play this one on Game Pass in 2024.

Avowed

Avowed will be one of the biggest console exclusives of the year for Xbox / Xbox

Obsidian Entertainment, beloved developers of Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds, Pillars of Eternity, and more, are now taking on a traditional first-person fantasy game. From the gameplay trailer we’ve seen there will be a huge world, hostile bears, undead armies, and a story that reacts to the decisions you make. It all looks incredibly exciting, and probably the next-best thing we’ll get until The Elder Scrolls VI, which is likely years away. Avowed is undoubtedly one of the most interesting games launching on Xbox Game Pass in 2024.

Persona 3 Reload is launching very soon, on February 2, 2024. Best of all, this game is coming as part of Xbox Game Pass, meaning countless Xbox players will be able to enjoy it at no extra charge. Persona 3 is considered to be the “pivotal” game in the series, and it’s true. This is where Persona shifted into being a pop-art-inspired, colorful JRPG with dark story beats, distinguishing it from the generally depressing (complimentary) Shin Megami Tensei games. If you’ve never played Persona 3 before, then you need to play Persona 3 Reload on February 2, 2024.
