Eavesdropping is an important mechanic in Asassin’s Creed Mirage, and although most main quests in the game allow for more than one approach, it can sometimes be essential to gathering intel and moving the story forward.

Most of the time, you will need to listen on conversations in AC Mirage to gain information that will allow you to enter a restricted area or progress the story.

Eavesdropping in Mirage is quite simple, but it may not be immediately obvious how to do it, or you may be struggling with finding opportunities. In this guide, we break down everything you need to know on how to eavesdrop in AC Mirage.

How to eavesdrop in AC Mirage

Before you can eavesdrop in AC Mirage, you need to find an eavesdropping opportunity. Sometimes these will be quite obvious to spot, as you will overhear a conversation nearby and the eavesdropping icon may appear above the NPC you can listen to secretly.

If you’re struggling to find eavesdropping opportunities, you can always use Enkidu, your trusty eagle, to reveal these. Press up on the D-pad (or B on PC) to call Enkidu. While looking around through Enkidu’s eyes, you can always hold LT/L2 (hold right-click on PC), to enter stationary mode and hover around potential eavesdropping opportunities to reveal them.

If Enkidu is unavailable because of a Masksman nearby, you can use your Eagle Vision ability (left on the D-pad or V on PC) to find conversations to eavesdrop on, albeit within a more limited area around you.

Before some major quests that involve infiltration and assassination of Order members, you will get an infobox that briefs you on the case and shows the eavesdropping icon alongside other infiltration opportunities available during that mission. Make sure you look around for these from a vantage point or through Enkidu’s eyes.

Once you’ve identified an eavesdropping opportunity, you need to find a nearby hiding spot, such as a haystack, or a place to blend in, such as a bench. Just crouching, standing behind a wall or walking closer to a window will not allow you to eavesdrop.

Now that you’re hiding or blending in, to start eavesdropping press the right analog stick on your controller (middle mouse button on PC).

This is how you eavesdrop in AC Mirage. Eavesdropping will reveal alternative paths to infiltrate a place or to complete your mission, and sometimes it’s the only way to progress the story. On one occasion, eavesdropping will lead you to one of the two disguises in AC Mirage.
