Assassin's Creed Mirage release times: how to use the New Zealand trick to play early
Ubisoft has released the official launch times for Assassin’s Creed Mirage on October 5, 2023. The bad news is that the PC times are needlessly confusing and are different depending on which digital store you use to buy the game. The good news is that the console launch is based on your local time, meaning you can pull off the New Zealand trick to play the game early (unless you actually live in New Zealand).
We’ll break it all down for you so you know when you can get playing.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage release times
PC – Epic Games Store
PC has two different sets of launch times. If you bought the game through the Epic Games Store, the game will unlock on October 5 at 4pm UTC. Here’s what that means for your time zone:
- 9am PT
- 12pm ET
- 5pm BST
- 6pm CEST
- 1am JST (October 6)
- 3am AEDT (October 6)
PC – Ubisoft Connect
If you bought the game directly from Ubisoft’s store, then here is the different list of launch times:
- 10pm PT (October 4)
- 1am ET
- 12am BST
- 1am CEST
- 10pm JST (October 4)
- 12am AEDT
PS5 & Xbox Series X/S
Thankfully, the console launch times are much simpler, as it is simply midnight in your local time zone, which as we mentioned, gives us a chance to pull off the New Zealand trick.
How to perform the New Zealand trick to play early – Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The New Zealand trick involves changing your console’s region so that you can get earlier access to any game that is dependent on a “local time” launch. As New Zealand’s time zone is the furthest ahead, this is the one you should select.
Xbox Series X/S
On Xbox, go into Settings > System >Time, and then you’ll be able to switch your time zone to UTC+12 Auckland, Wellington, then restart your console.
PS5
For PlayStation, it’s a little more complicated, as you will need to create a separate PlayStation account on your console and pre-order the game through that rather than your main account. Go through the normal account setup process (you will need a second email address too) but make sure that when selecting your region you pick “New Zealand”
