The best Minecraft seeds in 2024
Minecraft seeds - they are the key to keeping Minecraft feeling fresh, but sometimes you want to know what you're going to get. With these seeds for Minecraft, you'll be well on your way.
Starting a new world in Minecraft is exciting because you never know what you’re going to get. Unfortunately, this sometimes means the world you end up with is quite boring and lacking in anything to explore in the immediate area. A way to get around this is to enter a seed, as the community has found many seeds over the years that give you cool starting locations.
As Minecraft’s world generation algorithm is constantly changing and evolving, seeds from older versions of the game may not work anymore, so we’ve gathered seeds that work on the latest version.

Hollow Island
- Seed: 868565863016403259
Sometimes Minecraft’s generation system glitches out in weird ways and sometimes that creates terrain that’s strangely beautiful. Case in point, this hollow mountain sticking out of the ocean. If you were thinking of building any kind of hidden lair or magical island, this is the perfect place to start. The island has loads of room for stuff inside, and there’s even water pouring off the edge for an easy way up.
Mountain Vista
- Seed: 3255581
The new terrain generation introduced in Minecraft 1.18 has made for some incredible sights, and this is just one of the best. This mountain range you’ll spawn near looks gorgeous from both the top and bottom. The possibilities are endless as to what to build on it. You could build a village on top of the mountain overlooking the world, or build in the valley, surrounded by mountains on almost all sides.
Lush Cave Sinkhole
- Seed: 340883181811974
Mountains are great, but what about the opposite? In this seed, you’ll spawn next to a massive hole in the ground with a big lake at the bottom. This is cool on its own, but it gets even cooler when you realize that at the bottom is a massive entrance to a lush cave biome. It’s a magical sight, and it’s sure to make your imagination run wild with building ideas.
Mojang logo
- Seed: -857198684668532829
You'd think Mojang would get enough promotion in Minecraft already, given that their logo is the first thing you see when you load up the game. However, load up this seed and head to coordinates x: -122, z:774 and you'll see a pair of small lakes in the desert sands that look remarkably similar to the Mojang logo. Perhaps there's some secret treasure under the sand?
Village in hell
- Seed: 712212167398330
Sinkholes have been somewhat of a fascination for the Minecraft community ever since the Caves & Cliffs update brought them into existence. These are by far the craziest though. You'll need to have large biomes turned on for this work, but if you do then you'll find this massive sinkhole in the middle of a lake. That's pretty cool on its own, but it gets even better when you see that at the bottom is an NPC village sat on a massive lake of lava. Watch your step.
Cherry Blossom hills
- Seed: 3368699220760197849
The new Cherry Blossom biome has been available in Minecraft snapshots for barely any time at all, but people have already found some fantastic world generation involving them. This one is the standout to us, the Cherry Blossoms sit 360 degrees around the top of a massive mountain, with a large valley in the middle for you to build your fairytale village. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also a ruined portal, a ravine, and an NPC village nearby.
World record Mushroom Island
- Seed: -974104487272703557
Mushroom Island biomes typically aren’t that big, but there is technically no upper limit on their size. Naturally, some people in the community saw this as a competition and have made it their mission to seek out the biggest Mushroom Island they possibly can, and they’ve knocked it out of the park.
This gigantic Mushroom Island, located roughly 600 blocks from spawn, spans an unbelievable 940,500 blocks. The above image we’re showing you was taken at max render distance from the top of the world, and it doesn’t even capture half of the island.
Mountain Jungle Island
- Seed: 5415456
While a small island is more of a challenge if you want something a little more interesting to make your island paradise then try this seed. You’ll spawn on a pair of large islands that are covered in a mountainous jungle. This gives you plenty of access to wood, bamboo, and even melons. If that’s not enough there’s a massive lush cave biome underneath, so you’ve got lots to explore.
Underground church
Villages can spawn in all sorts of weird places, but a wonderful glitch in the terrain generation has caused the church of this particular town to spawn all the way underground in a dark cavern. It seems like the perfect place to build an underground base or create a dark coven under the innocent village on the surface.
Fortnite island
Island spawns in Minecraft are pretty common and easy to find, but one with a layout like this is pretty crazy. The overall size and shape of the map, paired with the placement of structures and the clearly defined biomes make it look like the kind of map Fortnite would produce. You have a Village and a mansion to explore in the plains, with jungles and mountains cutting through the entire thing.
