Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's weapon suite is OP, and these are the best new guns in the game

If you’re playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III but you’re still using your old loadouts from MW2, then you’re missing a trick. MW3 didn’t add as many weapons as you’d expect from a brand new Call of Duty entry, but the weapons that are here have been given a huge boost in power.

The new suite of Assault Rifles and SMGs in MW3 have instantly shot to the top of tier lists, as they hit hard and kill fast, faster than any of the other guns in the game as of the latest patch. ARs and SMGs are always the safe and reliable option in any battle royale, and MW3 has plenty of them for you to choose from in our guide below. Don’t worry, there’s also a great battle rifle.

Holger 556

Something you’ll learn from this list is that MW3 has added a bunch of assault rifles, and made them all incredibly powerful. The best of the bunch, though, just might be the Holger 556. When using an assault rifle you’re looking for stable recoil and relatively decent damage at range, with a nice, low time to kill. Well, that’s basically what the Holger 556 offers, and is why everyone’s using it.

MCW

You can build this assault rifle exclusively for long-range conflicts, which is a great option to have. Though it would have to do a lot more than that to draw most players away from the Holger 556.

MTZ-556

Yes, it’s another strong assault rifle, and this one can be optionally built for excellent mobility, bringing it closer to a “heavy SMG,” if you will. 

BAS-B

Moving on to the battle rifles at long last, we have the BAS-B. Battle rifles in general are similar to assault rifles, but are reliably better at longer ranges, so it won’t surprise you to find out what the BAS-B is best at. Get a stable grip to alleviate recoil and shoot down distant foes to win.

Striker

There are a handful of powerful SMGs in MW3 to go right alongside the ARs, so if you like staying mobile while shredding through enemies, you’ll feel right at home with the Striker. Use attachments to get rid of a bit of that recoil and get close to tear up foes.

Rival-9

There will be more SMGs in this list, including the Rival-9. This is an incredible short-range SMG, perfect for skulking through darkened warehouses.

Striker 9

Another excellent short-range SMG, the Striker 9 is a decent alternative to the Rival-9, depending on your preferences.

WSP Swarm

Our final weapon for the list is the WSP Swarm, and this is, well, basically an Uzi. And that’s a good thing, honestly. The WSP Swarm has one of the shortest ranges and most unpredictable recoils of the SMG class, but it makes up for it with rapid firepower. As long as your bullets hit the target, they’ll go down fast.
