COD MW3 Zombies: Best weapons to use in MWZ

If you want to exfil after getting the best loot from the High Threat Zone, then you should use these weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's Zombies mode

Zombies are merciless enemies in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s Zombies mode, known as MWZ. You will have to contend with plenty of them, and as a result, you’ll be in a better position if you have some of the best weapons in the game by your side.

MW3 hasn’t added many unique weapons to the game, but this is the first time MW2’s weapon selection has been available in Zombies, in addition to a few brand new bonuses you can only find in MWZ.

FTAC Siege

Activision

You rarely need to worry about range or accuracy in MWZ, which means an automatic pistol is a great choice, and wouldn’t you know it, the FTAC Siege is also great in MW3’s multiplayer. This is an easy gun to pick and start shooting at Zombies, and thanks to the great movement speed, it’s ideal for running away from the horde when you get in too deep and need to plate up. If you keep this gun upgraded you can carry it into the High-Threat Zone and still blast heads off with it.

Holger 556

A nice assault rifle with great range, the Holger 556 is a solid choice, again, in MWZ, or the main MW3 multiplayer modes. Aim it at some heads and you’ll have reliably stable recoil to tear through hordes with headshots. 

PDSW 528

Activision

A nice SMG for a change of pace, the PDSW once again lets you have really good mobility with a lot of firepower, like the FTAC Siege. Fully upgrade this weapon for literally hundreds of rounds at your disposal – like an LMG – while retaining all the speed of an SMG. A solid choice.

Explosive Crossbow

The crossbow is a classic high-risk high-reward weapon choice, but when equipped with Explosive bolts, that risk goes down significantly. A normal crossbow won’t give you much of an edge in MWZ, but when equipped with those Explosive bolts, it almost feels like cheating. If you can fully upgrade this weapon, you’ll find it to be very worthwhile.

Ray Gun

The Ray Gun has been a Zombies staple for years, and in MWZ it’s still brilliant, if not better than ever. The Ray Gun is the uncontested best weapon in MWZ, able to tear apart Zombies and bosses alike. If you can get this from a Mystery Box – or craft it through schematics – then make sure not to let it go.

Legendary-rarity weapons

While in the tier-3 High Threat Zone you’ll find Legendary-rarity weapons available to buy for 5k each, and they’re pretty much always worth it. Weapons with Gold rarity are just better than other weapons, and if you can grab a Gold-rarity LMG, you’ll be slaying hordes of zombies without a second thought. If you find yourself in the High Threat Zone and, well, threatened, make sure to look out for a Gold-rarity weapon to purchase.
