Crusader Kings 3 Game of Thrones mod doesn’t work on the new update – how to reverse to old version
A Game of Thrones has become one of the most popular mods for Crusader Kings 3 the instant it showed up on the Steam Workshop, but yesterday’s release of Tours and Tournaments and an accompanying update for the game has left players unable to use the mod.
Tours and Tournaments, which added in-depth travel and activity systems to the strategy and RPG hybrid, will eventually make a fine addition to the world of Westeros – you can literally plan a Red Wedding-style event in the game now, so be prepared for the Lannisters to send their regards in the future. Tournaments are also a big feature in the mod, so it’ll greatly benefit from the new additions Paradox has made in this area.
However, the new update, which is called Lance, is not compatible with AGOT for the moment.
If you want to continue playing on your modded save file, you’ll have to reverse your version of Crusader Kings 3 to 1.8.2, which is the one AGOT was released on.
How to reverse your Crusader Kings 3 game version
Here’s what you need to do to be able to play the AGOT mod again until the creators update it to work with the current version:
- Navigate to Crusader Kings 3 in your Steam library.
- Right-click on Crusader Kings 3 and select Properties.
- Navigate to “Betas” in the opened menu.
- Select “1.8.2 - Old version 1.8.2 (Robe)” from the drop-down menu and let Steam work its magic.
- You have now reversed the game version and can play AGOT again.
To get the current version of Crusader Kings 3 back – and with it all the new features – simply select “None” in the drop-down menu in “Betas” and you’ll automatically download whatever version the game is on at the moment. This will be necessary once the CK3 AGOT Team has updated the mod.
