In Diablo 4, Elias plays a key role as one of the main antagonists. He's the man in charge when it comes to bringing Lilith back to life, so he’s not messing around. Throughout the campaign, you'll have to challenge Elias twice: the first one will be a simple fight, so you shouldn't need our guidance — just dodge and time out your potions and you should be fine. The second fight is far more complicated and you may need some help to pull it off.

At this point, you'll be at a fairly advanced stage of the adventure, so you'll have already met bosses such as Astaroth, Brol and Andariel, and you should have a good idea of what you’re getting yourself into. In this guide, you can find everything you need to defeat Elias in Diablo 4.

Make sure you check out our tips and tricks for Diablo 4, as they can help you get through tough boss fights like this one without too much trouble. If you’re thinking of trying again with a different class, you should also take a look at what we think is the best starting class in Diablo 4.

How to beat Elias - Diablo 4 boss guide

Elias is a challenging boss that, like Brol, is made more difficult if you’re a close-range melee attacker. If you’re a Barbarian or a shapeshifting Druid, you might want to team up with a friend for this fight, and if you’re a Rogue, you’ll want to focus more on ranged attacks.

Elias focuses on three types of attacks:

  • He scatters globs of blood all over the arena
  • He makes radial attacks signaled by clearly visible circles on the ground
  • He spreads three clover-shaped waves of blood on the ground

You'll have to carefully move between the lanes of blood if you don't want to suffer heavy damage. The trick here is to move often and attack from a distance anytime you can. Playing as a Necromancer makes things easier, as your minions can do a lot of the heavy lifting, but you should be careful about getting too close no matter what class you main.

Elias’ AOE attacks follow your character as they move, plus the lane attack occasionally delivers three consecutive hits, which can deliver heavy damage if you’re not careful.

Elias' health bar is split into three portions, and you can grab health potions at the end of each bar. Don't forget to heal yourself at every opportunity you have, as his attacks can take away a lot of your HP.

The boss fight is not particularly tough if you’re patient and careful with your movements and attacks, but Elias' attacks hit very hard and, if you underestimate their impact, you may find yourself starting over and over again.

However, follow our tips above and you will easily master the Elias boss fight in Diablo 4.
