Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to be one of the biggest releases of 2024 so far, bringing us a brand new open-world fantasy RPG that we’re sure to get lost in for dozens of hours on end. With the game launching at the end of this week, we’ve put the details together for exactly when the game becomes playable, and how you can pre-load it to be ready for that moment.

We'll also teach you how to use the New Zealand trick on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S so you can play the games earlier than you'd normally be able to in your time zone.

On consoles, the game will release on Friday, March 22, 2024, at midnight local time, this means you will have to wait until the clock strikes midnight in your time zone to start playing the game.

There is a way you can get the game earlier though.

First, on Xbox, to play the game early, you’ll need to do the following steps:

  • From your console’s home screen, go to Settings > System > Language and Location
  • Set your location to New Zealand
  • Restart your console

For PS5, it’s a little trickier, as you’ll need to set up a new PlayStation account with a different email account, and during setup, set your region to be New Zealand. Then buy the game through that account to access the game early.

If you do this properly, you’ll be able to play the game at midnight New Zealand time, which will unlock the game on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at:

  • 4am PST
  • 7am EST
  • 11am GMT
  • 12pm CET
  • 4:30pm IST
  • 8pm JST
  • 10pm AEDT

The Steam release of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a little different, as it will launch at the same time worldwide. Thanks to an official tweet from Capcom, we know the game will release on midnight GMT on Friday, March 22, 2024. Here’s what that means for your time zone:

  • 5pm PST (March 21)
  • 8pm EST (March 21)
  • 12am GMT
  • 1am CET
  • 5:30am IST
  • 9am JST
  • 11am AEDT

Pre-loads for Dragon’s Dogma 2 will start on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 for all platforms. The size of the game will vary from platform to platform, but it will be roughly 65GB. This means you’ll have plenty of time to get the game downloaded, but you shouldn’t delay once it’s available, as you only have two days.
