After a lot of speculation and hype, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 is almost here, arriving this Friday. As announced at the D23 Fortnite event, this season is going all-Marvel, with the Battle Pass featuring all Marvel-related skins and themed POIs being added to the map in this coming season. That leaves just one burning question on players' lips: When can they get their hands on it?

We’ll explain exactly when Fortnite Absolute Doom is expected to start so you don’t miss a moment of the action.

The new season is starting on Friday, August 16, 2024, and while the exact time hasn’t been announced yet, we can use previous seasons as a template for when we expect Chapter 5 Season 4 to kick off.

Typically a new Fortnite season requires a lot more server downtime than other updates, but the time they go down is usually consistent. Based on recent seasons, we believe you can expect the Fortnite servers to be ready for players at around 1pm ET on August 16. Here’s what that means for your time zone:

  • 5am PT
  • 8am ET
  • 1pm BST
  • 2pm CEST
  • 5:30pm IST
  • 9pm JST
  • 10pm AEST

This is always subject to change though, as the team at Epic can encounter issues that delay the release of a new season. For example, Chapter 5 Season 2 had almost 24 hours of downtime before it was ready. If that happens we’ll keep you updated, so check back here often.
