The Gatekeeper Shotgun is a new triple-barrelled shotgun introduced in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. It’s a powerful shot with a much stronger blast than a regular one, although with a shorter range as a result. Still, it’s a weapon worth tracking down for your arsenal in a match, especially as the first set of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 weekly quests require you to use it to eliminate three opponents.

We’ll explain where to find a Gatekeeper Shotgun and how to get eliminations with it.

The Gatekeeper Shotgun is part of the regular loot pool in Fortnite right now, meaning you can find it on the ground, in chests, or in weapon cases at any rarity. However, there is a way to get a guaranteed Mythical version if you’re up to the challenge.

If you head to Grim’s Gate, you can activate the shrine of Cerberus and fight the guardian of the Underworld. He uses the Gatekeeper Shotgun, so keep your distance while fighting him, but if you can beat him, then he’ll drop a Mythical version of the weapon.

As is the rule with all shotguns, you need to use it as close as possible to maximize damage. This shotgun has a wide spread, so as long as you’re close to your opponent you’ll get some good hits in. Just be ready to dive into cover at a moment's notice, as the gun’s small clip size can catch you out if you’re not ready.
