The final update of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 has been rolled out, bringing with it a brand new season of Fortnite Festival, a celebrity crossover, and new LEGO Fortnite content. The trade-off is that the main battle royale is receiving relatively little this time around, but that’s to be expected as we near the end of the season – especially given how big the previous update was.

Here are the biggest changes coming to Fortnite in the v28.30 patch notes.

Lady Gaga skins and season pass

Fortnite Lady Gaga

Two versions of Lady Gaga skins are coming to Fortnite. There is one that will be purchasable via the item shop and another that can only be unlocked by completing the premium event season pass, which is locked behind Fortnite Festival progression.

LEGO Fortnite Gone Fishin’

LEGO Fortnite Fish

Fish are now coming to LEGO Fortnite and with it a bunch of fishing paraphernalia. Alongside all of the aquatic animals there is now a Food Processor station that lets you turn those friends to fine food.

Plus, some navigational tools have been added. First up is the Spyglass, which lets you zoom in on faraway locations, and second is the compass, which once crafted, will be added to your HUD so you can track the direction you’re traveling.

But wait, there’s more. Two new charms have been added to equip to your side slots.

  • Reflection Charm – Deals some damage back at the attacker
  • Wavebreak Charm – Increases swimming speed (stackable)

New LEGO Fortnite villagers, and skins

LEGO Fortnite Fishing Rod

Alongside all the new items are two new villagers who can randomly show up for you to add to your population, as Fishermen Outcast and Bob can both appear now.

Plus, a handful of skins now have LEGO versions. If you own any of these skins the LEGO variants will be automatically unlocked:

  • Airie
  • Flakes Power
  • Iron Man Zero
  • Lazarbeam
  • Loserfruit
  • Maxxed Out Max
  • Ninja

Rocket Racing time trials

Fortnite Rocket Racing Speed Run

A new mode has come to Rocket Racing called “Speed Run”, which is essentially a time trial mode. In here, instead of competing directly with other racers, you have a more pure-racing experience where you try to set the best possible lap times. Tracks will now have seasonal leaderboards too, so you’ll constantly have chances to compete for the top spots.

Major improvements and bugfixes

Fortnite Lady Gaga

All three modes have got a whole bunch of fixes in this update, as well as some general improvements. For example, in LEGO Fortnite, you can now sit in a chair! What exciting times we live in. On the topic of LEGO Fortnite, you can now have up to 20 villagers, meaning 4 villages full of 5 villagers, which should make things much more lively.
