Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 is officially underway, and they’re pulling out the Last Resort, as this season is heist-themed. This means the map is now full of heavily guarded fortresses containing all sorts of crazy loot that will no doubt give you a huge edge on the battlefield. There is also a nice selection of new weapons, items, and mechanics in play for you to dig into this season.

We’ll run you through everything you need to know about in these Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 patch notes, so you can drop into your first match with the edge.

Heist locations

Fortnite Sanguine Suites
Epic Games

It wouldn’t be much of a heist without somewhere to break into, would it? Three new modern mansions have been added to the map:

  • Sanguine Suites
  • Relentless Retreat
  • Eclipsed Estate

All three are guarded by heavily armed NPCs, turrets, and traps, so you’ll need to think carefully before you dive in. That’s not all though, as three existing locations have also become heistable:

  • Rumble Ruins
  • Slap Juice Factory
  • The big tower in MEGA City

New weapons

Fortnite Rocket Ram
Epic Games

You’ve got plenty of gear to get you into these locations too. Naturally, stealth is always an option, but to those who prefer the loud approach, the new Rocket Ram will blast you straight through any walls that stand in your way, plus some great assault rifles for taking out security.

Here’s the full list of new weapons:

  • Rocket Ram
  • Infiltrator Pump Shotgun
  • Scoped Burst SMG
  • Twin Mag Assault Rifle
  • Business Turret

Naturally, several old weapons are being unvaulted and returning to the game too:

  • Remote Explosives
  • Suppressed Sniper Rifle
  • Suppressed Pistol

But wait! There’s more!

If you’re mid-heist and suddenly realize you’ve forgotten something vital then don’t worry. You can find a Heist Bag around the place that has a random chance to contain items that could help you out. Open one up and you could find the new Crash Pad Jr, Remote Explosives, the new Rocket Ram weapon, extra ammo, or even healing items to keep you going.

Heist rewards

Fortnite Midas' Drum Gun
Epic Games

So what are you getting for all this trouble of breaking into these secure locations? Well, some of the most overpowered weapons and items in the game, that’s what. Here’s the full list of potential rewards when you reach the inner depths of the vaults:

  • Midas’ Drum Gun
  • TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow
  • Ocean’s Bottomless Chug Jug
  • Kit’s Charge Shotgun
  • Kit’s Shockwave Launcher
  • Zyg and Choppy’s Ray Gun
  • The Foundation’s MK-Seven Assault Rifle
  • Gunnar’s Stinger SMG

Forecast Towers

Fortnite Pizza Pit car
Epic Games

The bases aren’t all there is to find on the island either. New Forecast Towers have popped up all over the place, containing some heavily armed guards. Take them down and you’ll earn a keycard that lets you download information from the tower’s scan. Doing just that will reveal where the next Storm circle is going to form, letting you get ahead of the game.

Survivor Medals

Fortnite Survivor Medal gold
Epic Games

In a battle royale, there is always one person who just hides until they reach the final few players and can end up claiming a win with only one or two kills. Survivor Medals are Fortnite’s latest attempt to discourage that kind of play.

To get these medals you will need to outlast a certain number of opponents while getting a minimum number of eliminations in the process. Currently, there are seven tiers of medals from Common up to Mythic, and right now unlocking each one will get you new styles for the Prized Llama Back Bling item, with potentially more rewards coming in the future.
