Among the many new features and changes in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, there was one that the team behind Fortnite kept very quiet about, and that’s Shadow Briefings. A continuation of last season’s underground theme, Shadow Briefings allow you to earn Bars mid-match by completing a randomly generated mini-challenge.

We’ll explain where to get these Shadow Briefings in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 and how to complete them.

The map above, courtesy of fortnite.gg, shows all the currently known locations where Shadow Briefing computers can appear. Note that there are likely more locations yet to be found, as they only show up on your minimap as minor points of interest.

With this map, Reckless Railways or Restored Reels are the best locations to visit if you want to get a Briefing.

How to complete Shadow Briefings in Fortnite C5S2

Shadow Briefings come in multiple varieties, letting you earn lots of Bars in Fortnite matches / Epic Games

Each Briefing will ask you to do a random task depending on what type of briefing it is. There are four possible types of briefing:

  • Bounty Shadow Briefings – Like Bounty Boards, these will task you with eliminating a specific target within a time limit.
  • Supply Shadow Briefings – These will spawn a supply drop nearby that you must loot within a time limit. These are great for getting good weapons, although they will attract opponents.
  • Treasure Shadow Briefings – These mark two areas where a treasure can be found, you must uncover them within the time limit.
  • Vehicle Shadow Briefings – A vehicle will be spawned nearby and you must drive it a set distance within a time limit.
