The NPC who undoubtedly has the most important job in Fortnite is the bus driver. It's their job to take the bus in a straight line across the island so that players can drop down at the start of the game. It didn’t take long for players to realize this, and they demanded the developers add the ability to thank the driver before exiting the bus.

It doesn’t actually do anything for you in-game, but it’s always nice to be nice. However, sometimes it becomes a crucial task as Fortnite's weekly challenges occasionally demand you do it, so here's how to thank the Fortnite bus driver.

When you’re flying across the sky at the start of the match, it’s just one button to do this job.

To thank the bus driver, press “B” on PC, or down on the D-pad on console. A little message will pop up in the global chat to say you’ve done so, and then you’re free to jump out of the bus and onto the map, do it at the start of enough games and you'll complete this Fortnite challenge, and get a healthy dose of XP to progress your Fortnite Remix Battle Pass.
