Version 3.5 of Genshin Impact has been available for two weeks now, with brand-new banners to pull playable Genshin Impact characters from being active.

Truth be told though, players’ primogem reserves were probably very exhausted after the Hu Tao and Yelan banners from 3.4, which followed up on Alhaitham.

It’s not like the Genshin Impact 3.5 banners are without their charms, however: Dehya, a new 5-star Pyro character, and Mika, a new 4-star Cryo character, celebrate their debuts during this game version. We’re also seeing some additional Cryo reruns from Inazuma and Liyue in the upcoming second half.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact 3.5 character banners.

Genshin Impact 3.5 banners: Phase 1

Starting on March 1, 2023, with update 3.5’s release, you’ll be able to call upon the two new characters to join the game’s playable roster. Alongside them, one previously available unit returns into the fray.

  • Banner #1: Dehya (5-star character, claymore, Pyro), Barbara (4-star character, catalyst, Hydro), Collei (4-star character, bow, Dendro), and Bennett (4-star character, sword, Pyro).
  • Banner #2: Cyno (5-star character, polearm, Electro), Barbara (4-star character, catalyst, Hydro), Collei (4-star character, bow, Dendro), and Bennett (4-star character, sword, Pyro).

Dehya has been highly-anticipated ever since she was revealed through her involvement in the game’s main story. She’s a mercenary hailing from Sumeru’s western desert regions, making her the first playable eremite character.

Phase 1 rerun

HoYoverse

Cyno, General Mahamatra of the Akademiya, is back in the institution’s good graces after the corrupt leadership around Grand Sage Azar was ousted. He’s a solid Electro damage dealer, though perhaps suffered a bit from the pre-release hype surrounding him, which he couldn’t really do justice.

Phase 1 rerun

Barbara has been the go-to healer for many free-to-play teams in the history of Genshin Impact. Though other characters excel more in terms of both healing and constant Hydro application, Barbara is still a solid option, especially in combination with Dendro characters.

Phase 1 rerun

Collei was among the two very first Dendro characters in Genshin Impact and is a very solid Sub DPS of this element. Both her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst bring a good amount of Dendro application to the field.

Phase 1 rerun

Bennett from Genshin Impact.
HoYoverse

Bennett is without a doubt the best Pyro Support in Genshin Impact and can definitely claim to be among the top characters in general – providing a triple threat of healing, Pyro application, and damage boosts, he's present in many strong team compositions.

Genshin Impact 3.5 banners: Phase 2

After a duration of three weeks, the banners will change at the halfway point of the game version on March 21, 2023.

  • Banner #3: Kamisato Ayaka (5-star character, sword, Cryo), Mika (4-star character, polearm, Cryo), Diona (4-star character, bow, Cryo), and Sucrose (4-star character, catalyst, Anemo).
  • Banner #4: Shenhe (5-star character, polearm, Cryo), Mika (4-star character, polearm, Cryo), Diona (4-star character, bow, Cryo), and Sucrose (4-star character, catalyst, Anemo).

Phase 2 rerun

HoYoverse

Kamisato Ayaka is a fantastic Cryo DPS playable in Freeze, Melt, and Superconduct teams. Her special spring is also great for traversing large bodies of water very quickly, so exploring Teyvat with her is very refreshing.

Phase 2 rerun

HoYoverse

A Shenhe rerun has been a long time coming. She’s a great Sub DPS character that boosts the Cryo damage as well as physical damage of other units.

Phase 2 debut

Genshin Impact Mika artwork.
HoYoverse

Mika is a land surveyor serving with the Favonius Knights of Mondstadt and made a very brief appearance in a previous version of the game. Overall, his role has not been impactful so far, however.

Phase 2 rerun

Diona from Genshin Impact.
HoYoverse

Diona is a barkeeper, who absolutely hates alcohol and wants people to stop drinking. Unfortunately, her mixing skills are simply too good and people come back to Cat's Tail Tavern to cherish her creations despite her best efforts to make them taste terrible. Gameplay-wise Diona is a very solid Cryro support, who is able to heal and provide shields.

Phase 2 rerun

Genshin Impatc Sucrose artwork.
HoYoverse

Sucrose is a sweet and shy alchemy student under Albedo, who loves her work and would rather not talk about anything else. She's an excellent Anemo support, able to trigger Swirl reactions and shred the elemental resistance of enemies by carrying the Viridescent Venerer artifact set.

If you're looking to build a powerful Freeze team, the second half of version 3.5 has a lot of powerful characters to offer. Sucrose is a useful addition to your roster as well, being very versatile in regards to characters she can effectively team up with.
