Version 3.6 of Genshin Impact is on its way and as usual the update features brand-new banners to pull playable Genshin Impact characters from.

After a relatively lukewarm reception for Dehya and Mika, players will likely have saved up a substantial sum of Primogems to go all-out in the upcoming patch.

Update 3.6 has some attractive characters in store – quite literally if you’re partial to anime husbandos: Baizhu and Kaveh will celebrate their debuts and join the roster of playable fighters. We’ve already met both of them over the course of our adventures: Baizhu is a pharmacist in Liyue and takes care of zombie-girl and fellow playable character Qiqi, while Kaveh is the whiny roommate of Alhaitham and another member of the Akademiya – as well as a renowned architect.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact 3.6 character banners.

Genshin Impact 3.6 banners: Phase 1

Starting on April 12, 2023, with update 3.6’s release, you’ll be able to call upon two returning characters for your roster.

  • Banner #1: Nahida (5-star character, catalyst, Dendro), Dori (4-star character, claymore, Electro), Layla (4-star character, sword, Cryo), and Kuki Shinobu (4-star character, sword, Electro).
  • Banner #2: Nilou (5-star character, sword, Hydro), Dori (4-star character, claymore, Electro), Layla (4-star character, sword, Cryo), and Kuki Shinobu (4-star character, sword, Electro).

Phase 1 rerun: Nahida

Artwork of a young white-haired girl.
HoYoverse

Nahida is a fantastic character, who is able to massively boost the damage output of reaction teams. She is incredibly useful on the world map as well, as she’s able to pick flowers and fruits from a distance.

Phase 1 rerun: Nilou

A red-haired girl in a dancer's outfit.
HoYoverse

Nilou is a bit one-dimensional, as she’s only really playable in Bloom teams, but she sure fills her role extremely well and is a fun character to put on the field.

Phase 1 rerun: Dori

Artwork of a pink-haired girl with sunglasses.
HoYoverse

Sumeru's well-connected and immensely rich merchant is a bit of a niche pick for team compositions, but her ability to allies heal and charge up their energy is great. She has some of the most fun combat animations as well.

Phase 1 rerun: Layla

Layla from Genshin Impact.
HoYoverse

Sleepy Layla is a fantastic option for Cryo teams that require shielding and consistent Cryo application, as she can provide both.

Phase 1 rerun: Kuki Shinobu

Artwork of a green-haired girl with a face mask.
HoYoverse

Shinobu is an excellent healer that really has come into her own since the release of the Dendro element, as this made her one of the prime Support characters in the game.

Genshin Impact 3.6 banners: Phase 2

After a duration of three weeks, the banners will change at the halfway point of the game version on May 2, 2023.

  • Banner #3: Baizhu (5-star character, catalyst, Dendro), Kaveh (4-star character, claymore, Dendro), Candace (4-star character, polearm, Hydro), and Fischl (4-star character, bow, Electro).
  • Banner #4: Ganyu (5-star character, bow, Cryo), Kaveh (4-star character, claymore, Dendro), Candace (4-star character, polearm, Hydro), and Fischl (4-star character, bow, Electro).

Phase 2 debut: Baizhu

HoYoverse

Baizhu is a man with a painful past, who focuses on healing others. He is both adept at causing Dendro damage and healing fellow party members, making him a strong addition to any roster.

Phase 2 rerun: Ganyu

Artwork depicting Genshin Impact's Ganyu.
HoYoverse

Ganyu is one of the prime Cryo damage dealers in the game and is known for being especially devastating in Melt team compositions. A fun character to use on top of being powerful, Ganyu should be high up anyone’s priority list.

Phase 2 debut: Kaveh

Genshin Impact Kaveh artwork.
HoYoverse

Kaveh is another character, who is heavily specialized in interacting with the Bloom reaction, as he’s able to boost the damage of exploding Dendro Cores, making him an ideal member for any Dendro-Hydro composition.

Phase 2 rerun: Candace

Genshin Impact Candace.
HoYoverse

Candace is a Hydro character with an active shielding ability, allowing her to take on a hybrid role between tank and damage dealer.

Phase 2 rerun: Fischl

Artwork of a young woman with an eye patch.
HoYoverse

Fischl is a strong off-field Electro character, who can act as a team's battery to generate energy particles and charge up someone's Elemental Burst.

Be sure to check the Genshin Impact codes page for new Primogem offers, in case you need a little extra currency to pull for these characters.
