We hope your weapon inventory still has some free space, because Genshin Impact 4.0 will greatly expand the available armament options: a dozen new weapons will be introduced in the patch that’s due to be released on August 16, 2023.

Eleven of these are 4-Star weapons, while one has a 5-Star rating – it will be obtainable from the Genshin Impact 4.0 banners, which also feature Lyney, whose signature weapon this particular piece of equipment is:

  • The First Great Magic (5-Star bow)
    • Secondary stat: Critical Damage.
    • Increases Charged Attack Damage by 16%. Gains one stack of Gimmick for every party member of the same elemental type as the wielder (including the wielder). Gains one stack of Theatrics for every party member of a different elemental type as the wielder. Gimmich boosts Attack by 16% per stack, Theatrics increases the Movement Speed by 4% for the first stack and 3% for each additional stack.

Five of these new weapons can be claimed through the paid version of the battle pass for anyone reaching level 30 during its runtime:

  • Wolf-Fang (4-Star sword)
    • Secondary stat: Critical Hit Rate.
    • Boosts Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst Damage by 16%. Increases Critical Hit Rate of both abilities separately by 2% after they hit enemies. These effects last ten seconds and have a maximum of four stacks.
  • Talking Stick (4-Star claymore)
    • Secondary stat: Critical Hit Rate.
    • Increases Attack by 16% for 15 seconds after being affected by Pyro. Boosts Elemental Damage bonus by 12% for 15 seconds after being affected by Hydro, Cryo, Electro, or Dendro.
  • Ballad of the Fjords (4-Star polearm)
    • Secondary stat: Critical Hit Rate.
    • Elemental Mastery increases by 120 when there are at least three different elemental types present in the party.
  • Sacrificial Jade (4-Star catalyst)
    • Secondary stat: Critical Hit Rate.
    • Wielder's maximum HP go up by 32% and Elemental Mastery by 40 when they are not on the field for five seconds. These effects go away after they've been on the field for ten seconds.
  • Scion of the Blazing Sun (4-Star bow)
    • Secondary stat: Critical Hit Rate.
    • Hits target with a Sunfire Arrow after a Charged Attack. Sunfire Arrow deals 60% of Attack as damage and inflicts Heartsearer for ten seconds. Heartsearer makes enemies take 28% more damage from the wielder's Charged Attacks.

These are the five new battle pass weapons coming with update 4.0 / HoYoverse

The existing quintet of battle pass weapons remains available as well, so you can now choose between ten types of armaments upon reaching level 30 in the paid version.

Another five brand-new weapons will be craftable through the blacksmith as long as you have the required materials on hand and purchased the blueprints from Estelle, who can be found in the smithy in the capital:

  • Finale of the Deep (4-Star sword)
    • Secondary stat: Attack %.
    • Attack increases by 12% for 15 seconds and the wielder gains a Bond of Life worth 25% of their maximum HP when using an Elemental Skill. Upon being cleared, the Bond of Life grants up to 150 Attack (2.4% of the total amount of Bond of Life cleared) for 15 seconds.
  • Tidal Shadow (4-Star claymore)
    • Secondary stat: Attack %.
    • Attack increases by 24% for eight seconds when the wielder is healed, which also triggers if they're not on the field.
  • Rightful Reward (4-Star polearm)
    • Secondary stat: HP %.
    • Restores eight Energy when the wielder is healed, which also triggers if they're not on the field.
  • Flowing Purity (4-Star catalyst)
    • Secondary stat: Attack %.
    • Elemental Damage bonus increases by 8% for 15 seconds and the wielder gains a Bond of Life worth 24% of their maximum HP when using an Elemental Skill. Upon being cleared, the Bond of Life grants up to 12% Elemental Damage bonus (2% for every 1,000 HP) for 15 seconds.
  • Song of Stillness (4-Star bow)
    • Secondary stat: Attack %.
    • Wielder deals 16% more damage for eight seconds after being healed, which also triggers if they're not on the field.

Bond of Life is a new mechanic used on these weapons. It'll absorb all healing effects a character receives, preventing them from recovering HP. The Bond of Life will be cleared once enough healing has been absorbed, clearing the effect and granting the bonuses. If Bond of Life is gained while another Bond of Life is active, it'll stack on top of the old one.
