Update (November 23, 2023): The Genshin Impact 4.2 banners for the second half of the game version have been completely revealed and this article has been updated accordingly.

Update 4.2 of Genshin Impact is on the horizon and will add another duo of playable Genshin Impact characters to the popular RPG.

One of these upcoming Genshin Impact characters is the highly anticipated Furina, a 5-Star Hydro sword-wielder and the Archon of Fontaine. She immediately won people over with her sassy and outwardly confident behavior when she first appeared in version 4.0, now she can finally be added to players’ roster. Then there is Charlotte, a 4-Star character players met on their travels outside of Fontaine for the first time. As usual, update 4.2 will feature rerun banners to allow players to pull for characters released in the past.

While the Genshin Impact 4.2 livestream was postponed, the German-language PS Blog put out a preview that highlights some upcoming contents, such as the banners.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact 4.2 character banners including their start dates and contents.

Furina can switch her Arkhe between Ousia and Pneuma by using her Charged Attack, which changes the units she can summon through her Elemental Skill, which can either attack her enemies or support her allies by healing them.

Baizhu

Baizhu is a powerful healer, who can also contribute Dendro application to his team to facilitate reactions.

Charlotte

Charlotte is mainly a damage dealer, but her Elemental Burst is able to heal allies in its area of effect, allowing her to fill a support role.

Collei

HoYoverse

Collei is a solid Sub DPS unit that can apply Dendro effects on enemies from off the field.

Beidou

Beidou provides a bit of sustain as well as Electro application to any team, making her a worthwhile character to build.

Genshin Impact 4.2 banners: Phase 2

After a duration of three weeks, the banners will change at the halfway point of the game version on November 29, 2023. That’ll make the following characters available:

  • Banner #3: Kamisato Ayato (5-Star character, sword, Hydro), Xiangling (4-Star character, polearm, Pyro), Kuki Shinobu (4-Star character, sword, Electro), and Kirara (4-Star character, sword, Dendro).
  • Banner #4: Cyno (5-Star character, polearm, Electro), Xiangling (4-Star character, polearm, Pyro), Kuki Shinobu (4-Star character, sword, Electro), and Kirara (4-Star character, sword, Dendro).

Kamisato Ayato

A tall, blue-haired man holding a sword.
HoYoverse

Ayato is an on-field damage dealer, who can cause devastating reactions with the right support cadre around him.

Cyno

A white-haired man wearing a dog's head cap.
HoYoverse

Cyno is a Electro damage dealer, who spends most of his time in the field. He wants to get his Elemental Burst up as fast as possible, allowing him to trigger strong reactions with some help from off-field characters.

Xiangling

HoYoverse

Xiangling is one of the best Pyro characters in the game despite her 4-Star rating. She provides excellent off-field Pyro Damage as well as some minor support effects. One of the most cost-efficient units you can build in Genshin Impact.

Kuki Shinobu

Artwork of a green-haired girl with a face mask.
HoYoverse

Kuki Shinobu is a fantastic character to act as a healer in several team compositions, since she not only provides HP restoration, but also Electro application. Teams with Dendro characters can make especially great use of her.

Kirara

Genshin Impact Kirara.
HoYoverse

Kirara is a solid tank character, though has one big drawback in the fact that she can't really provide any off-field Dendro application while fulfilling her other role. Due to her mobility options she's still a very fun character to play around with, though.

Three weeks after the beginning of the second half of version 4.2, update 4.3 will arrive in the game with the next wave of character and weapon banners.
