Genshin Impact Mika build and materials guide /

The best Genshin Impact Mika build focuses on Energy Recharge and HP, which allows him to activate his Elemental Burst as often as possible. Mika is never going to deal a lot of damage, but he has some excellent healing capability and is one of very few characters who can buff the physical damage of a team. Though he is a Cryo polearm user, Miko’s kit includes a crossbow for some ranged damage as well, which is pretty cool.

Mika’s Elemental Skill, Starfrost Swirl, uses that crossbow to attack and deal Cryo damage as well as grant allied characters a buff to their Attack Speed. The crossbow has an alternative firing mode when you hold the button, allowing you to aim and hit several targets. If you manage to hit several enemies, the buff granted to allies includes a 10% boost to physical damage.

His Elemental Burst, Skyfeather Song, regenerates HP for the entire team with the healing being based on Mika’s maximum HP. Normal Attacks made by characters affected by this ability will continue to heal them for a short amount of time.

This kit makes Mika quite a solid Support character, though his ability to provide damage buffs is definitely more reliable once you’ve unlocked his Constellations.

Best Mika weapons – Genshin Impact

You don’t ever want to use Mika to actually attack with him, as his personal damage is extremely low. Instead, focusing on his Energy Recharge (aim for about 180%) is a good idea to cope with the high cost of his Elemental Burst.

If you’re the type to have a spare Engulfing Lightning catching dust in your inventory, that one’s probably a good choice thanks to its Energy Recharge stat and the additional energy generation after activating an Elemental Burst. Honestly, though, the Favonius Lance is going to be good enough for him.

Here are the best weapons for Mika in Genshin Impact:

  • Engulfing Lightning (5-star polearm)
  • Favonius Lance (4-star polearm)
  • Prototype Starglitter (4-star polearm)
  • Black Tassel (3-star polearm)

Best Mika artifacts – Genshin Impact

There are several possibilities you may want to consider for Mika. The first one is a typical set on Support characters, which is always worth a thought: Noblesse Oblige provides a useful buff for the entire team and having one character carrying it into battle is never a bad idea.

In case you already have a Noblesse Oblige or don’t need the Attack buff, you could mix two pieces of Tenacity of the Millelith with two pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate, which will give Mika an additional 20% of HP and Energy Recharge. This is a very similar set-up to Diona’s.

A third option is to go for a full set of Ocean-Hued Clam, which is a more damage-oriented path to take. Ocean-Hued Clam buffs Mika’s Healing Bonus and creates a physical damage effect based on the amount of HP healed by his Elemental Burst – this can be substantial enough to cause a solid amount of damage.

You’ll want the following stat distribution on artifacts for Mika regardless of the set you choose:

  • Flower: HP (main stat), Energy Recharge, HP%, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Energy Recharge, HP%, HP, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Sands: Energy Recharge (main stat), HP%, HP, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Goblet: HP% (main stat), Energy Recharge, HP, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Circlet: HP% (main stat), Energy Recharge, HP, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)

Best Mika teams – Genshin Impact

Thanks to his buff to physical damage, Mika is an ideal candidate for accompanying Eula into battle:

Eula is the best physical DPS character in the game, but that doesn’t mean that a composition with the right team members can’t help her reach further heights. In this case, Raiden Shogun and Shenhe, who are traditional members of Eula’s escort, stay in their positions, while Mika joins them as the party’s main healer. He’ll also use his Elemental Skill to give Eula a damage boost. Rosaria would be another candidate for the Main DPS position.

Eula / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS
Eula is the prime physical damale dealer in the game and benefits from all of Mika's abilities. That's a nice nod to the game's lore, where Mika is one of Eula's underlings in the Knights of Favonius' Reconnaissance Company.

Raiden Shogun / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Raiden Shogun's excellent off-field capabilities make her a valuable asset for any team. Mika benefits a lot from her presence, as his energy woes are greatly reduced by her.

Shenhe / HoYoverse

  • Role: Support
Shenhe helps a composition with a Cryo Main DPS by creating the Cryo Resonance, but will also directly buff their damage output through her active abilities.

Genshin Impact Rosaria artwork.
Rosaria / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS / Sub DPS
Rosaria is a fine option as a Main DPS for players without Eula, but can also be used as a Sub DPS to bridge some cooldown times of other characters. She's primarily a physical damage dealer, so she benefits from Mika's skills.

Genshin Impact Razor artwork.
Razor / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS
Razor is on the same boat as Rosaria, though even less flexible. Frankly, there's a reason why he isn't played much, but that shouldn't stop you from trying him out.

Fischl / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Fischl provides constant Electro application thanks to her night raven, Oz, and creates the useful Electro Resonance with other characters of that element.

Yae Miko / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Just like Fischl and Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko is an excellent off-field Electro option.

Zhongli from Genshin Impact.
Zhongli / HoYoverse

  • Role: Support
The CEO of Geo can shred the enemy's resistance to physical attacks and shield his fellow team members, making him a very useful addition to a physical damage team. Pairing him up with Mika will make your team pretty much indestructible.

  • Razor (Main DPS), Fischl (Sub DPS), Rosaria (Sub DPS), Mika (Support)

Razor is another physical damage dealer, but doesn’t see all too much use. Bringing Mika into a team surrounding him is a great idea for the additional damage and the consistent healing. Fischl takes Raiden’s job as a battery in this composition, while Rosaria is another character benefitting from physical damage buffs.

Mika ascension materials – Genshin Impact

You’ll want to quickly raise Mika’s level when you pull him, which means that you’ll need to farm his ascension materials. You’ll also require some material to upgrade his talents.

Here’s what you need to get Mika to level 90:

  • Shivada Jade Sliver x1
  • Shivada Jade Fragment x9
  • Shivada Jade Chunk x9
  • Shivada Jade Gemstone x6
  • Recruit’s Insignia x18
  • Sergeant’s Insignia x30
  • Lieutenant's Insignia x36
  • Wolfhook x168
  • Pseudo-Stamen x46
  • Mora x2,092,530

Shivada Jade is available from any Cryo-affiliated boss on the world map, such as the Cryo Regisvine or the Cryo Hypostasis, while you can get Insignia from regular Fatui enemies. Wolfhook is a plant native to Mondstadt, where you can mainly find it in the area around the Wolf of the North’s boss arena. You’ll have to travel a bit farther to find Pseudo-Stamens, which are a boss material from Setekh Wenut, the sandworm found in the Desert of Hadramaveth. Mora, as always, are best farmed from golden Ley Line Blossoms.

Here’s what you need to upgrade all three of Mika’s talents:

  • Recruit’s Insignia x18
  • Sergeant’s Insignia x66
  • Lieutenant's Insignia x93
  • Teachings of Ballad x9
  • Guide to Ballad x63
  • Philosophies of Ballad x114
  • Mirror of Mushin x18
  • Crown of Insight x3
  • Mora x4,957,000

Aside from additional Insignia and Mora the upgrade process for Mika’s talents requires you to collect some Books of Ballad. You can acquire these in Mondstadt’s Forsaken Rift Domain on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Mirror of Mushin is another material found in Sumeru, where you’ll have to beat Scaramouche to get it. Finally, you’ll need Crowns of Insight from the reward trees in Inazuma and Sumeru or from time-limited events to complete the process.
