Genshin Impact Nahida build and materials guide /

The best Genshin Impact Nahida build unlocks the Dendro Archon’s full powers, allowing you to field one of the strongest reaction-enabling Sub DPS and Support characters in the game. As the Goddess of Wisdom is not primarily a fighter, Nahida herself doesn’t dish out a whole lot of damage, but is superb as an off-field reaction enabler due to her consistent Dendro application as well as her buffs to important stats.

Nahida’s Elemental Skill, All Schemes to Know, deals Dendro damage around her and lets her mark up to eight opponents with Seeds of Skandha. If you hold the Elemental Skill button, time slows down for a bit, Nahida gains resistance to interruption, and enters an aim mode to mark opponents, who all suffer Dendro damage and are afflicted by Seeds of Skandha. These link the targets with each other, dealing damage to all of them if even one among them is hit by any elemental reaction. This damage is based on Nahida’s Elemental Mastery and Attack stats.

Her Elemental Burst, Illusory Heart, manifests the Shrine of Maya, a large field with different effects based on the composition of Nahida’s party. Pyro characters enhance the damage done through the Seeds of Skandha, Electro characters allow the Seeds of Skandha to damage targets more often, while Hydro characters increase the duration of the Shrine of Maya itself. Having two party members of one of these elements increases the corresponding effect.

Nahida doesn’t have to be on the field for the effects of her Elemental Skill or Burst to work, making her a truly excellent off-field option. Nahida’s Passive Talents buff the active character’s Elemental Mastery in the Shrine of Maya. Her own Elemental Mastery enhances the damage of Critical Hit Rate of the damage effect from Seeds of Skandha.

Finally, Nahida is a superb character for world exploration and resource collection, because All Schemes to Know’s aim mode allows you to collect up to five plants, fruits, vegetables, or mushrooms from far away. It’s safe to say that she should be high on your priority list to pull.

Best Nahida weapons – Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Nahida.
Nahida is an absolute powerhouse and will greatly enhance anyone's character roster / HoYoverse

A Thousand Floating Dreams is Nahida’s signature as well as her best weapon. It provides her with Elemental Mastery, which has many benefits as we already mentioned, and further grants her allies additional Elemental Mastery as well. Depending on their party’s elemental types, the weapon’s wielder gains elemental damage on top of these bonuses. It’s the perfect tool to allow Nahida to maximize the entire team’s reaction damage.

Here are the best weapons for Nahida in Genshin Impact:

  • A Thousand Floating Dreams (5-star catalyst)
  • Wandering Evenstar (4-star catalyst)
  • Fruit of Fulfillment (4-star catalyst)
  • Sacrificial Fragments (4-star catalyst)
  • Mappa Mare (4-star catalyst)
  • Magic Guide (3-star catalyst)

Best Nahida artifacts – Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Nahida.
Nahida is relatively straightforward to build, as she heavily relies on Elemental Mastery / HoYoverse

Every party with Dendro members ideally wants someone to carry Deepwood Memories into battle and Nahida is a perfect candidate for this job. Two pieces increase her Dendro damage by 15%, while four pieces let Elemental Skills and Bursts by any party member reduce the targets’ Dendro Resistance by 30% for eight seconds. That’s a perfect window for hitting them with everything you got.

You should get the following stat distribution on Nahida’s artifact set:

  • Flower: HP (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge (secondary stats)
  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Elemental Mastery, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge (secondary stats)
  • Sands: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Goblet: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Circlet: Elemental Mastery (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Energy Recharge, Attack % (secondary stats)

You’ll want to get as close as possible to 1,000 Elemental Mastery on Nahida. If you can do that without Elemental Mastery being the primary attribute on Goblet or Circlet, you can use one with Dendro Damage % (Goblet) or Critical Hit Rate/Critical Damage (Circlet) instead. These would also be the preferred stats for Nahida as a Main DPS.

Best Nahida teams – Genshin Impact

Nahida is an incredibly flexible character, which is another reason why she’s such a value pull. Any character able to trigger reactions with Dendro will benefit from having her on their team. Here are some examples of great team compositions with Nahida:

We’ve mainly focused on Nahida’s off-field capabilities so far, but such is her adaptability that she’s a superb Main DPS as well. In this case, all the off-field effects from Yelan, Raiden, and Kokomi allow Nahida to trigger lots of devastating reactions with her Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks. The only thing holding Nahida back is her low HP. However, Yelan and Kokomi’s Hydro Resonance buff helps out massively in this area, keeping her alive.

You could replace Yelan with Xingqiu and Raiden Shogun with Kuki Shinobu, Fischl, or Yae Miko in this Hyperbloom composition.

  • Ayato (Main DPS), Nahida (Sub DPS), Raiden Shogun (Sub DPS), Zhongli (Support)

Hyperbloom teams can function with an off-field Nahida as well. For this to work you’ll need a Main DPS like Kamisato Ayato or Kokomi, who has consistent Hydro application through skills and Normal Attacks, as well as an Electro off-field character like Raiden, Yae Miko, or Fischl.

Yelan / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Fantastic off-field Hydro capabilities make Yelan an excellent choice to go with Nahida. Hydro Resonance, which is created when two Hydro characters are on a team, helps out the Dendro Archon greatly as well due to the resulting HP bonus.

A woman with dark violet hair pulls a sword out of her chest.
Raiden Shogun / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS/Sub DPS
Raiden and Nahida make the best combination out of all the Archons so far. You can use Raiden as your Main or Sub DPS on a team with Nahida, as both her on- and off-field side works well with the Goddess of Wisdom.

Sangonomiya Kokomi / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS/Support
Kokomi is great as a Support for Nahida thanks to her consistent healing and Hydro application, but can also serve as a Main DPS on Nahida's team.

Artwork of a young blue-haired man.
Xingqiu / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
In a similar vein to Yelan, Xingqiu is an excellent addition to Nahida's party.

Artwork of a young woman with an eye patch.
Fischl / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Just like Raiden, Fischl is an excellent battery and off-field Electro applier, though she lacks the capacity to be a team's main source of damage.

Artwork of a red-haired woman in a priestly outfit.
Yae Miko / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Yae Miko is phenomenal at spreading the Electro effect around the field and getting the team where it needs to be.

Artwork of a green-haired girl with a face mask.
Kuki Shinobu / HoYoverse

  • Role: Support
Great healing meets solid Electro application in Shinobu.

A tall, blue-haired man holding a sword.
Kamisato Ayato / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS
Ayato makes perfect use of Nahida's off-field abilities.

Zhongli from Genshin Impact.
Zhongli / HoYoverse

  • Role: Support
Zhongli is an all-around fantastic Support. Though Geo can't really interact much with Dendro, Zhongli's shielding and damage buffs are universal.

A red-haired girl in a dancer's outfit.
Nilou / HoYoverse

  • Role: Sub DPS
Packing a special kind of Bloom reaction to create unique Bountiful Cores, Nilou is a bit of a niche character. However, Nahida is one of the keys to unlocking her great potential.

Artwork of a handsome man with silver hair.
Alhaitham / HoYoverse

  • Role: Main DPS
Alhaitham benefits a lot from Nahida's buffs as well as her carrying Deepwood Memories, making her a great Support for his team.

You can round things off by adding someone like Zhongli for shielding and damage buffs or an Anemo Support like Kazuha or Sucrose, who contribute additional resistance shredding. There is a possibility of using Alhaitham as the Main DPS here as well, putting more emphasis on Dendro damage and Spread.

  • Nahida (Main DPS), Nilou (Sub DPS), Yelan (Sub DPS), Kokomi (Support)

Nilou is a very special character thanks to her unique ability to enable the creation of Bountiful Cores – and Nahida is the perfect character to produce them in quick fashion. Once again her HP is a bit of a concern here, because there is a real risk of the Bountiful Cores’ friendly fire killing Nahida. That’s why a healer like Kokomi or Barbara should always be there to keep her healthy.

  • Raiden Shogun (Main DPS), Nahida (Sub DPS), Yae Miko (Sub DPS), Kokomi (Support)

This Quicken composition makes use of Nahida’s off-field capabilities. Her role here is to spread Dendro effects and enable the team’s Electro characters to deal additional damage. You’ll want some healing from a character like Kokomi to be on the safe side, though for a higher damage ceiling you could fill the last spot on the team with an Anemo Support like Kazuha.

Nahida ascension materials – Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Nahida.
The most difficult part about upgrading Nahida is collecting enough Kalpalata Lotuses / HoYoverse

You’ll want to quickly raise Nahida’s level when you finally get her, which means that you’ll need to farm her ascension materials. You’ll also require some material to upgrade her talents.

Here’s what you need to get Nahida to level 90:

  • Nagadus Emerald Sliver x1
  • Nagadus Emerald Fragment x9
  • Nagadus Emerald Chunk x9
  • Nagadus Emerald Gemstone x6
  • Fungal Spores x18
  • Luminescent Pollen x30
  • Crystalline Cyst Dust x36
  • Kalpalata Lotus x168
  • Quelled Creeper x46
  • Mora x2,092,530

Nagadus Emeralds are available from any Dendro-affiliated boss on the world map, such as the Terrorshroom or the Dendro Hypostasis. Since you require the Dendro Hypostasis’ drop, Quelled Creeper, as well, farming that boss should be your priority. Fungal Spores, Luminescent Pollen, and Crystalline Cyst Dust is common loot from defeating mushroom creatures in Sumeru, which you can find pretty much anywhere in the region.

Kalpalata Lotus grows on the sides of cliffs in Sumeru, most often near waterfalls. Getting to them can be a bit exhausting, which is why using Nahida’s ability to collect them is a great idea. We have a guide with some farming routes for you. The best way to earn more Mora is to farm golden Ley Line Blossoms.

Here’s what you need to upgrade all of Nahida’s talents to their maximum level:

  • Fungal Spores x18
  • Luminescent Pollen x66
  • Crystalline Cyst Dust x93
  • Teachings of Ingenuity x9
  • Guide to Ingenuity x63
  • Philosophies of Ingenuity x114
  • Puppet Strings x18
  • Crown of Insight x3
  • Mora x4,957,500

Upgrading Nahida’s talents requires additional Mora and more sacrifices from the mushroom creatures – just stay away from Bongo-Head and the rest of our Shroom Buddies. You’ll need to visit the Steeple of Ignorance Domain in Sumeru on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday to farm Books of Ingenuity. Puppet Strings are another material you can only get in Sumeru, as you’ll need to defeat the fake god, Scaramouche, to obtain them.

Crowns of Insight are a rare item gained from time-limited events or regional reward mechanics like the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru or the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma.
