Cast your enemies into oblivion with the best Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun build and attain eternity. This 5-Star character is one of the most popular units HoYoverse has ever released and broke several revenue records whenever it appeared – and it’s not just because Raiden Shogun pulls a sword out of her chest when using her Elemental Burst. She is one of the most powerful characters you can have, wielding her polearm and Electro powers worthy of an Archon.

Her Elemental Skill, Transcendence: Baleful Omen, deals Electro Damage to nearby enemies and creates the Eye of Stormy Judgement, which remains active even when Raiden Shogun is switched out. When the active character deals damage to enemies, the Eye of Stormy Judgement will unleash coordinated attacks dealing Electro Damage in a small area of effect. Furthermore, the Eye of Stormy Judgement increases the Elemental Burst Damage of the active character based on its Energy Cost.

Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Burst, Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu, allows her to unleash the Musou no Hitotachi and deal Electro Damage in an area of effect in front of herself with each strike. Her attacks in this state also regenerate Energy for the entire team, she has increased interruption resistance, and is immune to the Electro-Charged reaction. The damage of this Elemental Burst is boosted with each stack of Resolve consumed upon activation. She gains Resolve whenever an ally uses an Elemental Burst (the higher the Energy Cost, the more Resolve is obtained), being able to stack this effect up to 60 times.

An important passive skill you should also be aware of is Enlightened One, which makes each percentage point of Energy Recharge above 100% grant Raiden Shogun additional damage. Inazuma’s ruler and god is a truly fearsome character, on and off the field.

Best Raiden Shogun weapons – Genshin Impact

Raiden Shogun is best equipped with her signature weapon, Engulfing Lightning. It provides extra Energy Recharge and essentially adds to the Enlightened One passive skill by providing Attack to the wielder based on Energy Recharge above 100%. The weapon also provides temporary Energy Recharge after an Elemental Burst, which is the critical time to deal damage for Raiden Shogun.

Here are the best weapons for Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact:

  • Engulfing Lightning (5-Star polearm)
  • Homa Staff (5-Star polearm)
  • Wavebreaker’s Fin (4-Star polearm)
  • The Catch (4-Star polearm)

Best Raiden Shogun artifacts – Genshin Impact

Continuing the theme of Energy Recharge being one of Raiden Shogun’s core stats, her best artifact set is Emblem of Severed Fate. It provides a 20% Energy Recharge boost and buffs Elemental Burst Damage based on Energy Recharge, allowing the character to bring even more force to bear with this ultimate attack. Reaching 250% Energy Recharge at maximum would be ideal for her as a Main DPS.

If you’re playing Raiden Shogun strictly as a Sub DPS, you may want to invest more into Elemental Mastery, which includes getting her a set of Flower of Paradise Lost.

You should get the following stat distribution on Raiden Shogun’s artifact set:

  • Flower: HP (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Energy Recharge %, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Energy Recharge %, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Sands: Energy Recharge % (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Attack %, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Goblet: Electro Damage % (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Energy Recharge %, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Circlet: Critical Hit Rate or Critical Hit Damage (main stat), Critical Hit Rate or Critical Hit Damage, Energy Recharge %, Attack %, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)

Best Raiden Shogun teams – Genshin Impact

Raiden Shogun is a pretty flexible character that can do great things for you as a Main DPS as well as an off-field Sub DPS.

  • Raiden Shogun (Main DPS), Xiangling (Sub DPS), Xingqiu (Sub DPS), Bennett (Support)

This is one of the most reliable teams you can build in Genshin Impact, achieving incredible feats by unleashing an almost constant barrage of Elemental Bursts thanks to Raiden’s ability to refill her allies’ Energy. Xiangling and Xingqiu provide excellent off-field attacks, Bennett heals and buffs the team, and Raiden just goes wild.

You can slot Kazuha and Kujou Sara into this team for Xiangling and Xingqiu to get another potent combo with Raiden as the Main DPS, focusing on maximizing her damage output instead of achieving reactions.

Chevreuse is another strong support character that works well with Raiden and could be substituted for Xingqiu.

This all-star line-up forms an incredible Hyperbloom team with the capability to deal massive amounts of damage. You can use other Hydro and Dendro characters here as well, such as Alhaitham, Yaoyao, Kokomi, or Xingqiu.

Raiden is generally a great option for whenever you need an off-field Electro character.

Raiden Shogun ascension materials – Genshin Impact

You’ll want to quickly raise Raiden Shogun’s level when you pull her, which means that you’ll need to farm her ascension materials. You’ll also require some material to upgrade her combat talents.

Here’s what you need to get Raiden Shogun to level 90:

  • Vajrada Amethyst Sliver x1
  • Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x9
  • Vajrada Amethyst Chunk x9
  • Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone x6
  • Old Handguard x18
  • Kageuchi Handguard x30

Vajrada Amethyst can be obtained from any Electro-affiliated boss on the world map. Among these is the Thunder Manifestation on Seirai Island in Inazuma, which drops the required Storm Beads, making it easy for you to hit two birds with one stone. The dreaded Handguards drop from the samurai enemies found all over Inazuma, so give those guys the honorable death they’re looking for.

Amakumo Fruit is a regional plant you’ll only find in Inazuma, more specifically on Seirai Island. The best way to earn more Mora in the game is to farm Golden Ley Line Blossoms.

Crowns of Insight are a rare item gained from time-limited events or regional reward mechanics like the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma, the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru, or the Fountain of Lucine in Fontaine.
