The best Genshin Impact Wriothesley build boosts this Cryo catalyst-wielder’s Attack and Critical Damage to cause devastating carnage among his enemies. Stylistically, Wriothesley is very similar to Shikanoin Heizou, who uses a catalyst but is basically fighting with martial arts – only Wriothesley’s fighting style is more akin to that of a boxer, which is cool.

Wriothesley’s Elemental Skill, Icefang Rush, allows him to sprint forward a short distance and enter the Chilling Penalty state before unleashing a hail of punches. Chilling Penalty increases his interruption resistance and enhances his Normal Attack when he’s above 50% HP. In this state, hits by his Normal Attack consume a small amount of his HP.

His Elemental Burst, Darkgold Wolfbite, activates a powerful strike that deals Cryo Damage in the area of effect. Wriothesley’s passive skills increase his damage output when his HP is less than 60% of his maximum and generally whenever his HP changes – a common trend for the Fontaine characters.

Best Wriothesley weapons – Genshin Impact

Like many other 5-star characters, Wriothesley’s best weapon has been tailor-made for him – the 5-Star catalyst Cashflow Supervision provides a substantial boost to the Attack and Critical Hit Rate stats of its wielder. Normal Attack and Charged Attack Damage increases whenever the wielder’s HP is changed, an effect that can stack up to three times. Once it has reached three stacks, Attack Speed is boosted as well. This is a powerful offensive weapon.

Here are the best weapons for Wriothesley in Genshin Impact:

  • Cashflow Supervision (5-Star catalyst)
  • Tulaytullah's Remembrance (5-Star catalyst)
  • Solar Pearl (4-Star catalyst)
  • Flowing Purity (4-Star catalyst)
  • Dodoco Tales (4-Star catalyst)

Best Wriothesley artifacts – Genshin Impact

Wriothesley is all about using his boosted Normal Attack to deal damage, which means that Attack, Critical Hit Rate, and Critical Damage are the most important for him. Like many Fontaine characters, he also has a mechanic revolving around changing his HP. This combo clearly favors one specific artifact set: Marechaussee Hunter. It increases the damage of all Normal and Charged Attacks and boosts the Critical Hit Rate whenever the wearer’s HP is increased or decreased.

You should get the following stat distribution on Wriothesley’s artifact set, regardless of which one you end up choosing:

  • Flower: HP (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack (secondary stats)
  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Sands: Attack % (main stat), Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Goblet: Cryo Damage % (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Damage, Attack (secondary stats)
  • Circlet: Critical Damage (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Attack, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)

Best Wriothesley teams – Genshin Impact

Wriothesley works in a variety of teams thanks to his inherent Cryo application as a catalyst-wielder, making him viable for various team compositions.

  • Wriothesley (Main DPS), Shenhe (Sub DPS), Kazuha (Support), Kokomi (Support)

Freeze builds are especially strong for Wriothesley, because it reduces the chance of his attack chains being interrupted and of opponents moving around, which would mean that he’d have to waste time closing the gap once again. Kokomi delivers the necessary Hydro application for this as well as healing. Shenhe is a great Cryo Sub DPS, who can enhance Wriothesley’s damage. Kazuha is there for crowd control, bunching enemies up so they can be frozen in a good spot, and reducing their elemental resistance.

You can pull this sort of team off with Yelan, Xingqiu, or Mona as Hydro applicators as well. In that case, you’ll want someone like Diona, Layla, or Zhongli on the team to provide shields. Rosaria is a solid stand-in for Shenhe. Sucrose, Faruzan, Jean, or Venti can be used in Kazuha’s place.

  • Wriothesley (Main DPS), Xiangling (Sub DPS), Kazuha (Support), Bennett (Support)

Melt builds are another viable option for Wriothesley. Naturally, you’ll want the deadly duo of Bennett and Xiangling to provide the necessary Pyro effects as well as healing and damage boosts. Kazuha or his Anemo replacements fulfill the same role as above. You can slot in Thoma as a Pyro shield provider.

A variation of this build swaps Xiangling out for Nahida, combining the Burning reaction from Pyro and Dendro with Wriothesley’s ability to inflict Melt.

  • Wriothesley (Main DPS), Nahida (Sub DPS), Yelan (Sub DPS), Shinobu (Support)

Just to show how versatile Wriothesley is, check out this mixed composition that can utilize any combo of Dendro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo reactions to its advantage. This is a very fun way to mix things up and still deal great amounts of damage. You can swap in characters like Collei, Dori, or Fischl as well.
