God of War Ragnarök: All Stags of Seasons locations
God of War Ragnarok's main attraction may be its central story about a father and son trying to stop an apocalyptic war, but its many side quests – known here as Favors – add plenty of fun to the adventure, too. One such optional objective tasks you with finding all of the Stags of Seasons for the talkative and intriguing Ratatoskr, but you'll need to make some pretty significant headway in the game's story first.
Read on for what you need to do to begin this quest and where to find all of the Stag of Seasons.
How to start Stag of Seasons
Before you can get to the area where you'll find the Stags of Seasons, you'll need to complete the main mission "Creatures of Prophecy." After completing it and leaving Freyr's camp, you'll automatically receive a Favor called "Scent of Survival," so track this brief and straightforward quest and complete it to meet all the requirements needed to access The Crater in Vanaheim.
Once you've found your way to The Crater, you'll need to seek out and approach one of the Stags of Seasons listed below to begin the Favor "A Stag for All Seasons." This will send you to speak to Ratatoskr at Sindri's House. Head there and have a chat, then grab the Yggdrasil Leaves (feed) from him and head back to The Crater in Vanaheim to begin your search for the four Stags of Seasons.
Stag of Seasons locations
It's in The Plains very close to the Overgrown Tower Mystic Gateway.
It's in The Jungle, but you'll need to complete the Return of the River Favor first.
You'll find it standing around right at the Mystic Gateway in The Sinkholes.
The fourth and final stag can be visited inside the Wishing Well in The Plains.
- The Stag of Winter is found in The Plains very close to the Overgrown Tower Mystic Gateway. You can find it near a ledge in this area, so take it some of the Yggdrasil Leaves and watch as it heads back to Ratatoskr.
- The Stag of Summer is found in The Jungle, but you'll need to first complete the Favor "Return of the River," which you'll automatically start upon entering the area. Finishing up this relatively simple quest will result in you filling the area with water so that you can use a boat to get around. With The Jungle now filled with water, row your boat to the Celestial Altar in this area and make sure you raise the sun. Afterward, head to the spot where you see an ogre tossing boulders and beat up on him, which will allow you to open a nearby blockade with the Chaos Blades and swing across the river to another landmass. You'll find the Stag of Summer here, so go ahead and give him some Yggdrasil Leaves and let him head back home.
- The Stag of Autumn is perhaps the easiest one to find, as you'll see it standing around right at the Mystic Gateway in the Sinkholes. Give it some Yggdrasil Leaves to send it back to Ratatoskr, leaving only one more Stag of Seasons to round up.
- The Stag of Spring is the fourth and final of these majestic animals you'll need to find, and it can be visited inside the Wishing Well in The Plains. This area is easily accessible via either The Sinkholes or The Jungle. Once you're there, head up to the upper levels to find the stag hanging out near a tree close to one of the exits. Feed it some Yggdrasil Leaves and watch him head out.
With all of the Stag of Seasons found, you can head back to Ratatoskr for your reward – a good chunk of XP, the Rond of Disruption, some crafting materials, and the "Pure of Hart" trophy.
