GTA Online: On Parade mission guide
GTA Online’s latest update, which gave us the San Andreas Mercenaries, has been a little controversial with it removing nearly 200 vehicles from stores, and now players have been running into trouble with one mission that feels just a little unfair.
The On Parade GTA Online mission sees you fly an F-160 Raiju jet through a series of challenges before you face off with a tricky battle right at the end. We’ll take you through the mission and give you some tips to beat it.
How to beat On Parade Project Overthrow mission – GTA Online
On Parade is the third mission of the San Andreas Mercenaries DLC, and you’ll want to complete it as it unlocks the Trade Price for the F-160 Raiju, taking it down from $6.8 million to $5.1 million.
Once it’s unlocked, head over to Fort Zancudo to start it and get in the nearby F-160. You’ll be instructed to head over to Blane County and fly through Raton Canyon – something we’ve all done for fun at least once.
However, the twist this time is that the canyon is filled with Merryweather anti-air devices. Thankfully, the F-160 has a stealth mode that can prevent them from locking onto you, so activate it and fly as low as you can through the canyon to stay alive.
After that, you can fly up and start to do a bunch of stunts. The game will prompt you for everything you can do, so this section is nice and easy.
Now you have to test the F-160 weapons systems by destroying targets floating in the air. It’s a longer part of the mission, but it’s not particularly difficult – just make sure you look out for the highest-scoring targets.
The final part of the mission is where things can get frustrating, as you’ll be thrown into a dogfight. Most of your opponents aren’t too difficult, but you’ll come face-to-face with two Merryweather Mammoth Avengers. This helicopter is heavily armed and had a ridiculous amount of health.
The best strategy is to ignore and evade the Avengers at first, taking out all the other aircraft to free yourself up. When you start to face the Avengers, you can use the F-160’s VTOL mode to hover and unleash a sustained assault on the choppers – just watch out that the second one doesn’t get the drop on you while you do it.
Once both the Avengers are down, you can head back to Fort Zancudo to complete the mission.
