If you’re looking to catch all the beasts in Hogwarts Legacy, the Graphorn is one you can’t ignore. It’s one of the rarer beasts in the game, with only a single Graphorn Den, and only one creature will spawn at a time – if you can make any spawn at all, that is.

Graphorn Den location – Hogwarts Legacy

The map location of the Graphorn Den in Hogwarts Legacy

If you want to find a Graphorn Den in Hogwarts Legacy, there's only one location to visit. It’s located at the Southernmost point on the map. You can visit it at any time, but you have to reach a specific story point to find a Graphorn.

Graphorn not spawning – Hogwarts Legacy

If you can't find a Graphorn, you need to progress further in the Main Story

If the Graphorn isn’t spawning in the Graphorn den, then that means you need to progress the main game. This Graphorn acts as a mount, and you will only get it after completing the Lord of the Shore quest, which is part of the final Trial in the main quest.

Lord of the Shore quest, how to defeat the Graphorn – Hogwarts Legacy

Facing off against a powerful Graphorn in Hogwarts Legacy. 

The Lord of the Shore quest is San Bakar’s Trial and involves defeating a Graphorn in battle. It’s a unique enemy type, and you’ll need to be smart about how you move and use attacks in order to overcome it. Once the Graphorn is defeated, you’ll be able to use it as a mount. It's not quite as fun as soaring through the sky, but at least you can smash obstacles - and enemies - out of your way. Ride it back to Professor Fig and smash through any Poachers or Dark Wizards you come across for a good time.

Can you breed Graphorn? – Hogwarts Legacy

Yes, you can breed Graphorn. Only the first Graphorn you encounter, as part of San Bakar’s Trial, is used as a mount – any further Graphorn will be used as beasts that you can add to your Vivarium. 

All Graphorn will spawn at the single den we described above, and only one Graphorn will spawn at a time. It will take several in-game days before more Graphorn spawn, so you’ll need to undertake some other quests while you wait – or just keep skipping time forward. Note: Graphorn may not spawn if you stand in its den while skipping time forward.

You’ll need both a male and female Graphorn in order to breed them, and since only one spawns at a time, you only have a 50% chance of getting the one you want, so you might need to skip time forward to spawn Graphorn several times.

You will also need to fight and defeat each Graphorn before using your Nabsack to capture them, so make sure to prepare for a battle.
