The school of Hogwarts is incredibly detailed, and it has never been more detailed than in Hogwarts Legacy. The school here feels more believable and realistic than it ever has before, mainly down to the fact that you can explore it yourself. But that also means that there is more hidden away to find than ever before, too.

Case in point, the Cache in the Castle quest has you following an incredibly vague treasure map from a young student named Arthur. It’s up to you to figure out exactly where the treasure is, but you can’t be blamed if you think it’s a bit awkward to figure out. For everything you need to solve this quest, just take a look down at our guide below.

Arthur’s Treasure Map explained – Hogwarts Legacy

The Cache in the Castle quest is a mission to solve Arthur’s treasure map. The map has no explicit instructions, only a few images for you to decipher using your knowledge of the Hogwarts grounds. Of course, if you’re new here (you are), then it might be a bit of a struggle. First we must locate the Rhinoceros skeleton, followed by the Dragon fountain, and finally the painting.

Rhino Skeleton location – Hogwarts Legacy

You’ll find this Rhino skeleton in the Defence Against the Dark Arts Tower. Once you’ve found it, you’ll see that the map points you down the staircase to the side of it. Head directly down and out the door in front of you to enter the Transfiguration Courtyard.

Now we’re in the Transfiguration Courtyard, you will see the Dragon fountain from the map in the center. Once again, you’ll see the map has an arrow pointing to the door at the back of the courtyard, so that’s the next path we’ll take.

Once through the door head forward, and ascend the stairs to your right. After one flight of stairs, you should come to the painting from the map. Use Accio on the hook above the painting and it will transform into a door, containing a single chest. Return to Arthur after opening the chest to complete the quest.
