It won’t take long in LEGO Fortnite before you need to start upgrading your tools and worktables if you want to start reaching the higher levels, and that means you’re going to need to seek out Knotroot. This is a bit like the second tier of wood, which means you’re going to have to look a little harder for it than just chopping down some trees.

We’ll tell you how to find Knotroot in LEGO Fortnite, and how to harvest it so you can expand your village.

Knotroot only spawns in Grassland Caves. If you need help tracking one down, check out our guide on how to find caves in LEGO Fortnite. Make sure you bring a sword, as there will be plenty of monsters inside.

Once you’re in, you’ll see strange roots spiraling out from the cave walls – that’s the Knotroot you’re looking for. However, you’ll need to craft an Uncommon Axe in LEGO Fortnite in order to break them, for which you’ll need to upgrade your Crafting Bench. Once you’ve done that, come back and you can start chopping down and gathering our Knotroot.
