You can find many gestures and emotes in Lies of P. These actions, commonplace in Soulslike games, mostly add a bit of flash and sizzle to your character. However, they can also be used in certain situations to obtain rewards.

Our guide discusses all gestures and emotes in Lies of P, which you can acquire as you progress further in the campaign. Likewise, since you’re already exploring various locations, we suggest finding other collectibles, such as outfits/masks and records. Lastly, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.

How to get gestures and emotes in Lies of P

Most Lies of P gestures and emotes are obtained as you interact with various NPCs throughout your adventure. Others, meanwhile, are rewarded if you manage to defeat certain Stalker opponents. As cited earlier, you can use these emotes in key situations to receive rewards, including Ergo, Quartz, and even Humanity Points, a mechanic that nudges P to feel more human.

In any case, our Lies of P gestures and emotes guide is divided into several sections. We’ve categorized them based on when we visited each zone or location during the campaign.

Early-game Lies of P gestures and emotes

The following gestures and emotes in Lies of P can be acquired early in the game. Specifically, these are the ones that are found in Hotel Krat and Workshop Union:

  • Sit – Available by default.
  • Check Ground – Available by default.
  • Show Off Clothes – Talk to Antonia in Hotel Krat.
  • Remembrance – While exploring the rooftops of Elysion Boulevard, you’ll come across an apartment that has the Frozen Man’s Letter. Read it and make sure to turn the pages to receive this gesture.
  • Stalker's Promise – Defeat the Survivor Stalker in Workshop Union Culvert.
  • Fear – Meet up with Venigni in Venigni Works Control Room.
  • Swagger – Defeat King's Flame Fuoco in the Center of Venigni Works area. Then, talk to Venigni in Hotel Krat.

Mid-game Lies of P gestures and emotes

These are the emotes that we found in Malum District, Rosa Isabelle Street, and Grand Exhibition:

  • Pray – Go to St. Frangelico Cathedral Library, talk to Sister Cecille, and bring her the Archbishop’s Holy Mark. Then, defeat Fallen Bishop Andreus. Return to Cecille’s location to obtain the Divine Service record, as well Cecille’s Written Confession. Read this letter and make sure to turn the pages to receive this gesture.
  • Taunt – Defeat the Black Rabbit Brotherhood in Malum District Town Hall.
  • Clap – After beating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood in Malum District, head inside the building and get the Portrait of a Real Boy. Once in your inventory, talk to Sophia and Antonia. The portrait will be hung on the wall in Geppetto's room. Check it out to receive this Lies of P gesture.
  • Sad – In Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert, you'll meet Julian the Gentleman. Continue onward until you see the corpse of a woman in a black dress. Pick up the Wedding Ring, return it to Julian, and tell him that his wife loves him.
  • Beg – After beating Champion Victor in the Grand Exhibition zone, you'll meet up with Red Fox and Black Cat once more. Give a Gold Coin Fruit to receive this Lies of P emote, as well as the Quixotic record.
  • Respect – You'll also receive a key after defeating Champion Victor. The key unlocks the Saintess of Mercy statue room nearby. It’s where you'll be able to respec your stats and upgrades. Talk to Sophia to obtain this gesture.

Late-game Lies of P gestures and emotes

Lastly, we obtained a few of these gestures during the closing chapters of the game. Beware of major spoilers at this stage:

  • Greet – Acquired by playing the piano next to Antonia. As of the time of this writing, we're unable to confirm if this can be done a lot earlier in the game, since we only obtained this much later. However, it's imperative that you do play the piano before fighting the Walker of Illusions miniboss in the Collapsed Street. Past that point, Hotel Krat will get ransacked, and Antonia will move to another location.
  • Anger – Speaking of Hotel Krat getting attacked, you'll find the remaining NPCs in Geppetto's room. Talk to Antonia to get this Lies of P emote.
  • Happy – In Arche Abbey's interior, continue to the depths until you see the Chosen One's Trinity Key room. There's a hallway that leads to a large chamber where you'll find Black Cat. Past that area, there's a corridor with an NPC named Test Subject 826. He'll hand over this gesture once you talk to him.
  • Entreat – After defeating Laxasia the Complete in Ascension Bridge, you'll see the real Sophia sitting on a chair. You're presented with a decision here. Regardless of your choice, you'll receive the Entreat emote.

These are the gestures and emotes in Lies of P. Acquiring all of them nets you the “Learning About Emotions” achievement or trophy.
