Kyo is a big city, and there are plenty of places where you can spend your money. That’s not to mention that you have a 100 ryo mortgage to pay on your second house, and numerous cats to feed. If you’re struggling to make money for the best weapons, healing items, and brothel visits in Like A Dragon: Ishin! then help is at hand.

Here are the best ways to make money in Like A Dragon: Ishin!

Finish the game

While this might sound counterintuitive, the quickest way to earn money is by finishing the main story. However, this will mean you won’t be able to do pricey things like pay off your debt or craft good weapons until after you’ve finished. All of this can be done in the post-game, which is rich with activities to enjoy. Finishing the main story rewards you with 200 ryo, which is pretty much all the money you’ll ever need.

Trade like a dragon

When you visit your house with Haruka, you can grow vegetables and cook meals to trade with the locals. While these sell for small sums of money at first, the more you trade the more you’ll get in return. It doesn’t cost you anything to farm and cook with your vegetables so this is an easy way to make big money. Doing this does mean the landlord will ask for payment, but nothing happens if you don’t pay him, so feel free to ignore it until you’re ready.

Become a courier

Near the shrine outside Teradaya Inn you will find The Frequently Lost Courier. After you give him directions a few times, he’ll just ask you to deliver the packages for him. Each package can earn you from 5000 mon to 2 ryo, and is an easy way to rack up money fast. Aside from the cash you’ll also complete his substory and your bond with him for your trouble.

Catch wanted men

On the top floor of Mukurogai you will walk past a group of men in Tengu masks. At some point they will decide to attack you which will open up the wanted men challenges. Go to the notice board in the hideout to see who you need to catch and where they are. These are not too difficult and you’ll be rewarded between 1 and 15 ryo for each one you catch.

Clear dungeons

Once you join the Shinsengumi, you’ll be told about dungeon missions that it’s up to the third division to clear. These are a bit tedious but offer the best rewards in the game. From rare materials to upgrade weapons, to large amounts of ryo. This is also the best place to gain EXP, and will help you level up your troops as well.
