Making your base run smoothly is a careful balancing act between all of the different Pals and the jobs they can do. You want as many Pals as possible to gather resources and craft items for you, but you still need enough on the base to plant, water, and harvest food so everyone stays fed and can keep working.

For the best results you want Pals with Level 4 for that particular job, as it means they do it much faster than any other. We’ll go through each work suitability and tell you what Pals have Level 4 for it so you can get the most efficient base possible.

If you need an explanation of what each icon means, then check out our guide on work suitability in Palworld.

How to upgrade a Pal’s work suitability level

Theoretically, any Pal can reach Level 4 in any of their work suitabilities. However, it requires condensing a lot of Pals together. Here’s what it takes:

  • Rank 1: 4 Pals
  • Rank 2: 16 Pals
  • Rank 3: 32 Pals
  • Rank 4: 64 Pals

Level 4 Kindling

Jormuntide Ignis has Level 4 Kindling. It spawns at a very high level in No 2 Nature Sanctuary on the western edge of the map, just north of the volcano island. However, if you’re lucky enough to find a Huge Scorching Egg out in the wild, a Jormuntide Ignis can hatch out of that.

Level 4 Planting

Lyleen has Level 4 Planting. It spawns at a high level in No 3 Nature Sanctuary in the far northeast corner of the map.

Level 4 Handiwork

Anubis has Level 4 Handiwork. It spawns as a Level 47 Alpha Pal in the small desert area on one of the northern islands.

Level 4 Lumbering

There are no Pals with Level 4 Lumbering. Instead, Wumpo, Wumpo Botan, Bushi, and Warsect all have Lumbering Level 3. The easiest of these to catch is Bushi, which spawns as a Level 23 boss in the world, as well as in the desert area on the south side of the volcano island.

Level 4 Medicine Production

There are no Pals with Level 4 Medicine Production. Instead, Vaelet, Felbat, Lyleen, and Lyleen Noct all have Medicine Production Level 3. The easiest of these to catch is Vaelet, which you can get at around Level 20 from No 1 Nature Sanctuary.

Level 4 Transporting

Wumpo has Level 4 Transporting. It spawns at Level 40+ in the Astral Mountains on the furthest north island.

Level 4 Watering

Jormuntide has Level 4 Watering. It spawns as a Level 45 boss in a big lake in the center of the same island where Anubis spawns.

Level 4 Generating Electricity

Orserk has Level 4 Generating Electricity. It spawns at a very high level on No 3 Nature Sanctuary, in the far northeast corner of the map.

Level 4 Gathering

Frostallion Noct has Level 4 Gathering. It can only be obtained by breeding a Frostallion with a Helzephyr.

Level 4 Mining

Astegon has Level 4 Mining. It spawns at a very high level on No 3 Nature Sanctuary, in the far northeast corner of the map.

Level 4 Cooling

Frostallion has Level 4 Cooling. It spawns as a Level 50 boss in the northwest of the Astral Mountains on the northmost island.

Level 4 Farming

Farming works differently to other skills, as it depends on what materials the Pal produces. You can only reach Level 4 Farming by condensing Pals of the same species together.
