Players of Pokémon Go are once again shocked about one of developer Niantic’s decisions – but it’s a rare occasion of that surprise being positive. Later in January the Raging Battles event will introduce Annihilape from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, which just got its own epilogue content update, to the mobile game. Usually when big names like this one join Pokémon Go, Niantic requires players to participate in raids or hatch eggs, which are both activities that drive users to make real-currency purchases in the game to enhance their chances of getting the newcomer.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to evolve Annihilape in Pokémon Go.

Pokémon Go: How to evolve Annihilape

Annihilape will be available through the regular evolution process with a requirement that seems easily doable. You need to set the Primeape you want to evolve as your buddy and then defeat 30 Ghost- or Psychic-type Pokémon in battle. Mind that you don’t need to use your Primeape in these fights, it just has to be your buddy while you do them.

Best of all, Annihilape will immediately be available as a Shiny Pokémon, so you won’t have to wait any additional time to get your hands on one.

Defeating Pokémon in battle can be achieved in various ways: Challenging Gyms, participating in Go Battle League, friendly duels against people on your friend list, or taking part in raids – lots of options that are freely accessible.

Players have already called on their fellow trainers to pack Gyms all over the world with Ghost- and Psychic-type Pokémon to make everybody’s lives easier during the Raging Battles event, which is going to run from January 19 to 24, 2024.

This event will come with juicy bonuses for Go Battle League as well, such as a quadruple win bonus on Stardust and an increased number of available battle sets each day. All three formats that are standard for the mode – Great League, Ultra League, and Master League – will be active during this timeframe.
