It’s that time of the year once again: The annual Pokémon Go Halloween event has come and set the stage for the spookiest creatures the series has to offer. Naturally, this traditional event wouldn’t be complete without a bunch of missions trainers can complete in order to obtain some rewards. While the Ticket of Treats Timed Research tasks have been available for a while now, additional Timed Research tasks have been added at the start of Halloween Part 1 and with the beginning of Part 2.

Here are all Pokémon Go Halloween 2023 Part 1 and 2 Timed Research tasks.

Pokémon Go Halloween Part 1: Timed Research tasks

This Timed Research focuses on catching Ghost-type Pokémon and will be available until October 31, 2023, at 8pm local time. Here are all tasks included in this questline:

Step 1 of 3

  • Catch 5 Ghost-type Pokémon: Stardust x1,000
  • Catch 10 Ghost-type Pokémon: XP x1,500
  • Catch 15 Ghost-type Pokémon: Stardust x1,000
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Greavard, Poké Ball x25, Stardust x1,000

Step 2 of 3

  • Take 1 snapshot of a Ghost-type Pokémon: Stardust x1,500
  • Catch 10 Ghost-type Pokémon: XP x2,000
  • Catch 15 Ghost-type Pokémon: Stardust x1,500
  • Catch 20 Ghost-type Pokémon: Pinap Berry x3
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Greavard, Great Ball x20, Stardust x1,000

Step 3 of 3

  • Take 1 snapshot of a Ghost-type Pokémon: Stardust x2,000
  • Catch 25 Ghost-type Pokémon: XP x2,000
  • Catch 1 Ghost-type Pokémon: Stardust x2,000
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Greavard, Ultra Ball x5, Pinap Berry x3

Make sure to take a snapshot of a Ghost-type Pokémon you’ve already caught to complete those tasks – snapshots of wild Pokémon won’t count.

Pokémon Go Halloween Part 2: Timed Research tasks

This Timed Research focuses on catching Ghost-type Pokémon and will be available until October 31, 2023, at 8pm local time. Here are all tasks included in this questline:

Step 1 of 2

  • Earn a Candy exploring with your buddy: Pikachu (Trick or Treat Costume)
  • Catch 5 Pokémon: Murkrow
  • Make 3 Great Throws: Phantump
  • Spin 3 PokéStops of Gyms: Sableye
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Gengar (Trick or Treat Costume)

Step 2 of 2

  • Earn a Candy exploring with your buddy: Pikachu (Trick or Treat Costume)
  • Power up Pokémon 3 times: Misdreavus
  • Make 10 Great Throws: Phantump
  • Catch 15 Pokémon: Gengar (Trick or Treat Costume)
  • Spin 3 PokéStops of Gyms: Noibat
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Zorua, Stardust x2,500, Rare Candy x5

Pokémon Go Spiritomb Timed Research tasks

This year’s traditional Spiritomb Timed Research has to be completed by October 31, 2023, at 8pm local time. Here are all of its tasks:

Step 1 of 1

  • Earn 1,080 Stardust: Misdreavus
  • Earn 1,080 XP: Yamask
  • Make 108 Nice Throws: Pumpkaboo
  • Make 108 Curveball Throws: Phantump
  • Use 108 Berries to help catch Pokémon: Shuppet
  • Earn 10,800 XP: Litwick
  • Spin 8 PokéStops or Gyms: Gastly
  • Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms: Dirfloon
  • Complete all tasks in this step: Spiritomb, 108 XP, 108 Stardust
