Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC: how to catch the Loyal Three
While the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will make sure that you can catch Ogrepon during the story, the legendary Loyal Three remain elusive. After defeating them during the story you’ll need to hunt them down yourself if you want to catch them and complete your Pokédex to get the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Glimmering Charm.
We’ll break down the locations of where to find all three of this mischievous trio and the best methods you can use to catch Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. We also have a guide on how to catch Bloodmoon Ursaluna in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
How to catch Okidogi
This big buff corgi is certainly the most visually striking of the trio. You can find Okidogi in the same place where you fought them during the story, which is in the northwestern corner of the Paradise Barrens area of Kitakami.
Like any time you’re catching legendaries, you should bring a Pokémon that knows False Swipe to bring your target to exactly 1HP, and one that knows Thunder Wave to Paralyze it, making it easier to catch. Then switch in a Pokémon that can withstand the incoming attacks from this Level 70 legendary and throw Ultra Balls until you catch it (or Dusk Balls if you happen to be doing it at night).
Okidogi is a Poison/Fighting-type, which means Psychic is the best defensive type.
How to catch Munkidori
You can find Munkidort by Wisteria Pond, which is in the southwestern corner of Kitakami. As a Poison/Psychic-type there aren’t many reliable resistances, but a Dark-type will prevent Munkidori from sweeping you with Psychic attacks.
Once again, use False Swipe and Thunder Wave to weaken it before throwing Pokéballs. You should stock up on healing items too, as Munkidori will use Calm Mind to max out its special attack, making everything hit extremely hard.
How to catch Fezandipiti
Fezandipiti waits for you on the cliff edge that overlooks Fellhorn Gorge on the western edge of the area. You climb up on it using Koraidon/Miraidon or go from the mountain and down through the cave area, like when you fought it during the story.
Fezandipiti is the most frustrating to catch as it knows Roost, letting it heal itself and thus lowering its catch chance. What you need to do is bring a Pokémon like Ninetails or Dusknoir that can learn Disable. Use it immediately after Fezandipiti has used Roost and it won’t be able to use it for four turns, in which you can damage it some more and throw Pokéballs.
Despite very obviously being a bird, Fezandipiti is actually Poison/Fairy-type, which makes any Steel-type perfect to resist its attacks.
