Contents
While the Eevee event is behind us, never fear, as more special Tera Raids are gracing the world of Scarlet and Violet for a few days during the first half of December. The first ones featuring Charizard start today, December 1 at 7pm ET, and end on December 4 at 7pm ET. If you miss it then don’t worry, and you’ll be able to go for it again from December 15 to December 18, starting and ending at 7pm ET once more.
Unrivaled Charizard Tera Raid details - Pokémon SV
This event will give us the first 7-star Tera Raids introduced in Scarlet and Violet. These unique raids will have you facing off against Unrivaled Charizard, which will always have a Dragon Tera type.
In order to access it, you’ll need to have unlocked 6-star raids. To do this you must first have completed the main story and beaten the Academy Ace Tournament. If you want to know how to do this, take a look at our Pokemon Scarlet and Violet post-game guide. Then you need to host and win (note: you must host them, not join them) a bunch of 5-star raids until Jacq calls you, then you’ll start to find them.
How to beat the Charizard 7-star raid - Pokémon SV
The thing to remember in Tera Raids is that the Tera-type of the Pokémon overwrites the original types. This means that you’ll be facing a pure Dragon-type Pokémon, meaning it is weak to Fairy, Ice, and Dragon-type moves.
However, you’ll want to consider what moves it’s likely to have as well. Ice-types are going to be no good, as this Charizard will almost certainly know a Fire-type move. You can also assume it will know a Dragon-type move like Outrage, so that crosses them off the list. This makes Fairy-types your go-to, something like Sylveon or Flutter Mane that has access to both strong attacks and status moves is a great choice.
