Among the many returning pokémon in Scarlet and Violet’s DLC, a beloved trio of classic starter pokémon are on offer, namely Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup from Sinnoh. You can get one of these pokémon almost as soon as you set foot in the Kitakami region, so we’ll tell you where to pick it up and bring it along on your adventure.

Sinnoh starter egg location – The Teal Mask Pokémon DLC

Pokemon SV DLC Jacq
Nintendo

From Mossui Town – the main town you start at in the DLC – head east over the bridge, then immediately turn right at the other side and you’ll see Jacq by a tree. Talk to him and you’ll sit down for a picnic, after which Jacq will give you an egg to take care of.

Hatch this egg (use a Flame Body Pokémon to make it hatch faster) and you’ll get either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup. Which one you get is completely random and you can only get one per save file. This means that if you want all three, you’ll need to trade with other trainers. You can use our Pokémon Scarlet & Violet breeding guide to get more copies of your Sinnoh starter to trade.
