Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC: How to evolve Duraludon
The second Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC, The Indigo Disk, is out now, and with it comes a host of new Pokémon. Some of these are all-new, but a couple are evolutions of previous Pokémon.
One such Pokémon to receive a new evolution is Duraludon, a generation 8 Pokémon that gets a new evolution that turns it into a large suspension bridge called Archaludon. Evolving Duraludon into Archaludon isn’t particularly difficult, but it’s not immediately obvious if you don’t know what you’re doing.
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to evolve Duraludon into Archaludon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to find Duraludon – The Indigo Disk Pokémon DLC
In order to evolve a Duraludon, first you need to get one. Thankfully, they’re very easy to find in the Terarium — you can spot them easily from a distance wandering around the Polar Biome. We’ve found they’re most abundant at higher altitudes, but they will spawn just about anywhere in the Polar Biome.
Duraludon has a fairly low catch rate, so be sure to weaken it first or hit it with a status condition like paralysis or sleep before catching it.
Metal Alloy location – The Indigo Disk Pokémon DLC
Duraludon is fairly easy to evolve, all you need is an item called Metal Alloy. We haven’t found any of these out in the wild yet, but there is one location where you’re able to get an endless amount — if you’re willing to work for it.
The Metal Alloy item is available to purchase at the School Store at Blueberry Academy, at a cost of 300 BP. This is about 10-15 BB Quests worth of BP, but BP is also given to you at various points throughout the story, so if you’re keen on getting an Archaludon, it shouldn’t take you too long to earn enough points for it.
How to evolve Duraludon – The Indigo Disk Pokémon DLC
Once you’ve bought a Metal Alloy, simply select the item from the Other Items pocket in your bag, and use it on the Duraludon in your party. It will immediately evolve into Archaludon, using up the Metal Alloy in the process. Achaludon will learn Electro Shot upon level up, which is effectively an electric-type version of Solar Beam that’s fired off instantly in the rain.
