Metroidvania maps are massive and interconnected by design – it’s one of the defining traits of the genre – but that can make backtracking to vital locations a little annoying. Thankfully Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has a fast travel system that lets you hop between major locations in a flash, but you have to put in a bit of work to unlock new points.

We’ll explain how to unlock new fast travel points in PoP: The Lost Crown.

As you explore Mount Qaf you’ll occasionally find spots where the world turns grey and a purple aura floats around the edge of the screen. If you explore the nearby area you’ll eventually find a strange rift with scattered pieces of stone around it. Strike the rift to break it and all of the pieces will reform into an altar.

This altar is what you use to fast travel. The first time you unlock one you’ll be able to use it to teleport back to The Haven, where all of the important vendors are like the Mage and the Blacksmith. From there you’ll be able to open a gate that was previously inaccessible to use the Haven’s altar whenever you want.

Altars aren’t especially frequent though, as there’s typically only one or two per major area – so it’s always worth going out of your way to find one.
