Finding the TNT – RE4 Remake
After climbing up the ladder near the merchant, our first task is to find some TNT to clear the path. Head through the cave on your right to uncover a Ganado stronghold, where villagers have been enslaved to mine plagas.
The villagers in here are pretty tough, and you’ll find a couple of chainsaw wielders at least. Try to ensure you don’t have any Ganados throwing things or shooting crossbow bolts from on high, because they love to throw Molotovs and explosives. Your goal is the building on the left side.
Flip the switch upstairs to lower the bridge, which will allow you to get out of here.
Go up the stairs, over the bridge, and you’ll find the TNT in a room to your left. Jump over the barrier to get back to rocks blocking the path and use the TNT to detonate it – but make sure to get well back, as the rockslide can hurt. Head up the newly cleared path and get ready for a fight on your right.
Double El Gigante fight – RE4 Remake
You’ll get pulled through the grate and straight into a fight with two fierce El Gigante. There is a switch that can open up a hole in the center of the room, plunging the pair into lava, but they’re smart and won’t wait around for you to open it up.
Luis will distract one giant as you fight the other. You must fight it and, with some luck, stun it while it is on top of the grate. If you’re successful, you’ll be able to plunge it straight in, and you can do the same to its friend.
Top tip: you should aim for the giant which lacks armor first, as Luis will give you some assistance in taking out the armored beast. Don’t waste ammo on its armor, wait until you see a real weakspot.
But you should know that you can actually complete a challenge by killing them both without plunging either into the spicy drink. You can push Luis through a gap near a door here to get out of the arena once the fight is done.
The Minecart Ride – RE4 Remake
Yes, it’s finally here, the minecart section. People were afraid that this would be removed from the remake, but rest assured, it’s still here, and it’s more thrilling than ever before. Luis rides with Leon this time, and you’ll need to lean from side to side in order to stay on the rails.
Here are the important notes: you’ll be using Luis’ Red9, for some reason, which doesn’t have great accuracy, but it will take out foes with a single shot. If you’re really bad at aiming, you can pick apart their minecarts with consecutive shots.
But you’ll also need to be aware of hazards on the track. Red barrels, track switches, enemies, and wooden planks will all need to be shot for the perfect minecart run, and missing some of these will even result in an instant fail.
There’s a halfway point, called the Stopover, and you can also find a Clockwork Castellan here.
The second half of the minecart ride is more of the same, but a chainsaw Ganado will be on the other track. Any time his cart comes near yours, you’ll need to shoot them to prevent them from cutting your cart apart.
Krauser fight – RE4 Remake
After you get out of the elevator, things go back, and you’ll have to fight Krauser. The goal is to beat him, and you can use whatever method you like, but the best method is the knife. It’s always a knife. In fact, you’ll start the fight right next to a Boot Knife, just in case you needed confirmation.
Your best bet to take down Krauser is to parry his oncoming attacks – hope you’ve been practicing! You can press R2 without aiming to slash your knife wildly, but holding L1 and pressing R2 for longer stabs is the best bet in a one-on-one fight.
Parry his moves and get your hits in, and you’ll take down Krauser in this initial battle. That concludes Chapter 11. The next one is Resident Evil 4 remake Chapter 12.
