Skull and Bones offers a variety of contracts to complete, and some of them involve treasure hunting. Relics of the Past will likely give you the first treasure map in the game, where you need to find a relic for the Sea People you meet at Vorona Falls.

There will be many more treasure maps along your pirate adventure in S&B, but this one serves as a treasure-hunting tutorial.

Here’s everything you need to know to complete the Relics of the Past contract by solving the treasure map clue and finding the Sea People Relic’s exact location.

Skull and Bones: where to get the Padewakang ship blueprint

You will get the Relics of the Past treasure map and contract from a Sea People Merchant at the Vorona Falls outpost, most likely during the Brokered Ground contract, in which Scurlock tasks you to deliver Weapon Caches to the Sea People in three locations.

Once you receive the treasure map, you can inspect it from the ship cargo menu, where it appears as Sea People Relic Clue. You can also open it quickly from the current activity menu (press X on PC to expand it; R2 on PS5, RT on Xbox), if you are tracking the Relics from the Past contract.

The clue includes a general map of the area where the relic is, a more specific clue to the exact spot, both with an X marking the relic’s location, and the following written clue:

“One of our camps was raided by the Fara at Red Isle, Tenina Coast, in Fort Louis, and our brothers and sisters returned to the Sea. We left our items there for fear of another raid, the relic included.”

As the text clearly states, the Sea People Relic is located on Tenina Coast, in Fort Louis. That’s to the south of the area where both Vorona Falls and your base outpost of Sainte-Anne are located.

You may need to explore the sea a bit to the south-southwest from Sainte-Anne, if the Tenina Coast has not been revealed yet.

Then, just go there with your ship and disembark at Fort Louis, which will appear as an undiscovered location on the eastern side of the coast as you approach, between the mainland and the small island next to it.

Once you’ve reached Tenina Coast and have disembarked in Fort Louis, walk just a little bit forward and then immediately turn left. There’s a small wreckage next to the fort’s wall, and when you approach it, a ray of light will appear, marking the exact spot where you have to dig.

Press F on PC (triangle on PS5, Y on Xbox) when the prompt to dig is displayed, and you will retrieve the buried treasure’s contents, including the Sea People Relic.

Now, you only need to sail to the Palisade Bay settlement to deliver the relic and complete the contract.

Palisade Bay is not far from Vorona Falls, where you started the contract, and to the northwest of Sainte-Anne. It will be marked on your map and compass. Once you're there, just interact with the settlement to receive your reward.

And that's how you complete your first treasure map in Skull and Bones. If you still have many questions about the game, check out our Skull and Bones FAQ or our guide to the Padewakang ship blueprint location.
