Stray is full of little secrets you can uncover as you explore its world in your adorable feline form. Some of these secrets take the shape of safes strewn throughout the game’s levels – and for every safe there is a code somewhere. Finding them is another matter entirely, and that’s where our Stray safe codes guide comes in to help you.

No safe is secure, so feel free to take a look below if you want to solve all the mysteries and secrets Stray has to offer without giving yourself a headache.

First door code

You’ll encounter a closed door very early on after picking up your companion B-12. The access code is hidden behind some pots of paint in a nearby room. You can knock them off the shelf to reveal it – the code for the locked door is 3748.

Seamus’ apartment code

One of the pictures on the wall of Seamus’ apartment hides a secret safe. You can knock off all the pictures in the apartment to obtain a hint for the code – it’s related to time. Time, you say? What a coincidence that there are four clocks in the apartment and the code has four digits. 2511 is the code you seek.

Morusque's safe code

In one of the trash piles in The Slums, near Morusque, you’ll find another safe. At first, you’ll receive a note in binary that you can take to Elliot – the robot fixing the tracker for you in the main story. He’ll point you towards Dufer Bar, where you can meet your old buddy Momo.

Climb on top of the bar, knock off a painting, and reveal the code – 1283. Inside the save you’ll find Music Sheet 8/8.

Midtown safe code

Entering Midtown, you’ll find a robot complaining to a merchant on your right. Jump up the desk there and head into the shop. You’ll find a code written backwards of a note on the wall with the safe being further up the shelves. Enter 8542 and you’re good to go.

There is also a safe in a room in The Slums that’s filled with books. You can’t open that one with a code, though. Instead, you’ll need to find a key in the backroom. Inside is Doc’s notebook, an item you need to progress through the story.
