All Chaos Dwarfs units and lords in Total War: Warhammer 3

Creative Assembly has finally confirmed a release date for the highly-anticipated Chaos Dwarfs DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3, Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs. This update will bring three new factions into the strategy game, each led by a different legendary lord representative of separate parts of Chaos Dwarf society.
The Chaos Dwarfs should be a pretty exciting faction on the battlefield, combining heavy Dwarf infantry, swarms of Greenskin slaves and cavalry, mutated bull centaurs, and ingenious as well as cruel war machines powered by the souls of daemons. Unlike their Dwarf ancestors, they are capable of wielding divine magic they draw from their cruel god, Hashut.
Here are all confirmed units, heroes, and lords for the Chaos Dwarfs in Total War: Warhammer 3.
Chaos Dwarfs lords – Total War: Warhammer 3
Astragoth Ironhand, High Priest of Hashut
Riding a metallic exoskeleton due to his advanced age and a case of prolonged petrification, Astragoth Ironhand is the High Priest of Hashut and was once the most powerful sorcerer to walk the Plain of Zharrduk.
He’s an armored caster with the ability to tap into the Lore of Fire and the brand-new Lore of Hashut in battle. In the campaign, Astragoth Ironhand’s legendary status enables him to earn more Conclave Influence than any other Chaos Dwarf leader, making him difficult to assault politically.
Drazhoath the Ashen, Sorcerer Prophet of Hashut
Drazhoath is ambitious and ruthless, rising through the ranks to command the Black Fortress and the Legion of Azgorh after being exiled from Zharr-Naggrund. Few can match his skill with Hashut’s Lore.
Zhatan the Black, Commander of the Tower of Zharr
Zhatan is a sadistic and ruthless general in service to Ghorth the Cruel, whose lust for slaves and sacrifices he needs to fulfill with ever wider ranging expeditions against Goblins and Orcs. He is a powerful melee combattant.
It looks like there are two types of generic lords we can expect to recruit in our Chaos Dwarf campaigns: Sorcerer Prophets of Hashut and Overseers. Sorcerer Prophets will be available in four different variants: Lore of Hashut, Lore of Death, Lore of Fire, and Lore of Metal.
Chaos Dwarfs heroes – Total War: Warhammer 3
Gorduz Backstabber (Legendary Hero)
Sporting a shield and an ax, Gorduz Backstabber is a melee combat specialist fighting on foot or from the back of his giant wolf. He’s especially great when he’s embedded in armies with lots of Hobgoblin units, as he can grant them powerful buffs and stat bonuses.
Abilities:
- Shoot ‘Em: Refreshes a unit’s ammunition.
- Sneaky: Enables Vanguard deployment for Hobgoblin units.
- Get Tha Gitz: Summons a Hobgoblin unit.
From what we saw in the trailer, we might get Daemonsmiths (Lore of Hashut, Lore of Death, Lore of Fire, and Lore of Metal variants), Infernal Castellans, and Bull Centaur Taur’ruks as hero characters.

Chaos Dwarf Warriors (Heavy Infantry)
Regular Chaos Dwarf Warriors are available with shields and axes as well as great weapons, making up the backbone of your early forces.
Chaos Dwarf units are going to have a unit cap on the campaign map, forcing you to balance out your armies between these strong troops and expendable slave forces.
Chaos Dwarf Blunderbusses (Ranged Infantry)
Armed with blunderbusses and shields, these gunners are likely going to be devastating at close ranges and can hold their own in melee combat.
Infernal Guard (Heavy Infantry)
Members of the Infernal Guard seek to redeem themselves in the eyes of Chaos Dwarf society. They'll be available with different weapon sets, such as great weapons even as hybrid infantry armed with fireglaives (blunderbusses that are also axes).
The greybeard here could be our Castellan hero character.
Ironsworn (Heavy Infantry), Immortals (Heavy Infantry)
It's difficult to say exactly, but there seem to be a few different infantry unit types on this picture. The Chaos Dwarfs with the glowing helmets might be Ironsworn, who are the elite among the Infernal Guard, while the Chaos Dwarfs behind them with the masks could be the dreaded Immortals, another elite infantry unit.
We can also see regular Infernal Guard, Bull Centaur Renders, a Skullcracker, a Bale Taurus, and possibly a Bull Centaur Taur’ruk here.
Hobgoblin Wolf Raiders (Cavalry)
Unlike most Greenskin units in the Chaos Dwarf roster, these Wolf Riders are not slaves, but hired mercenaries from the Hobgoblin Khanate in the East. You can see that their wolves are armored unlike those of Goblin Wolf Riders in the West. They also do not wear the colorful clothing most Chaos Dwarf slaves wear.
Hobgoblin Cutthroats (Light Infantry)
These Hobgoblins serve their masters as slave supervisors and soldiers, but are enslaved themselves, as you can see from the collar. They dress in colorful clothing in the fashion of their Chaos Dwarf masters.
Hobgoblins also serve their masters as Hobgoblin Archers and Hobgoblin Sneaky Gits with dual weapons.
Orc and Goblin Labourers (Light Infantry)
It's hard to make out details in this shot, but we can clearly see a few different elements of the Chaos Dwarf army: expendable Orc Slaves make up the first wave to assault this city, which is bombarded by Magma Cannons.
Goblin Labourers will be armed with spears, Orc Labourers with great weapons.
On the left, we see Bull Centaur Renders charging forward.
Chaos Dwarf Warriors and Blunderbusses make up the majority of this force.
There is a small unit of what might be Hobgoblin Cutthroats or Sneaky Gits on the left side as well, while we can make out Hobgoblin Wolf Raiders on the right flank.
Magma Cannon (Artillery)
The Magma Cannon is likely going to be the basic artillery piece in your Chaos Dwarf armies.
Dreadquake Mortar (Artillery)
Dreadquake Mortars are capable anti-infantry guns.
Skullcracker (War Machine)
The fearsome Skullcracker is reminiscent of some Skaven war machines already available in the game. It's perfect to break up enemy formations.
Iron Daemon (Artillery)
Iron Daemons are basically tanks with two main guns.
Deathshrieker Rocket (Artillery)
We may have some Deathshrieker Rockets in the bottom right corner of this impressive assortment of Chaos Dwarf war machines, though it's hard to tell.
Hell Cannons, which are not pictured here, will be available from the Hell-Forge.
K’Daai Fireborn (Monster Infantry)
The K’Daai Fireborn are a mix of Chaos Dwarf engineering and magic like many of their war machines, but definitely fall more to the magical side of things.
K’Daai Destroyer (War Machine)
The K’Daai Destroyer is the ultimate creation of the Chaos Dwarf forges, a powerful war machine that leaves only ashes behind on the battlefield.
Bull Centaur Renders (Monster Cavalry)
Bull Centaurs have the torso of a Chaos Dwarf and the muscled body of a bull, making them a fearsome sight on the battlefield. They have high armor values and can be used on the offense and the defense with equal effect.
Bull Centaur Renders will also be available in Great Weapon and Dual Weapon variations.
Great Taurus (Flying Monster)
The Great Taurus is a nightmarish version of a sphinx or a hippogryph, a gigantic monster with the body of a bull and the wings of a dragon. These creatures can attack on their own, but also serve as rides for their masters, the Chaos Dwarfs. Weapons striking them simply melt and they leave behind fiery spots where they touch the ground.
Bale Taurus (Flying Monster)
The Bale Taurus is an even bigger and more ferocious beast than the regular Great Taurus. Only the most powerful Chaos Dwarfs can ride them into battle.
Lammasu (Flying Monster)
The Lammasu is a mutation of the Great Bale Taurus. Where their relatives are all about rage and ferocity, the Lammasu are intelligent and capable of sorcery, so they throw fireballs and teleport their allies around the battlefield instead of entering melee combat. They also seem capable of debuffing enemy forces with their charisma.
We'll keep you updated about official confirmations of the full Chaos Dwarf roster and further sightings in upcoming gameplay videos and blog posts. So far, though, this looks like an incredibly fun faction to field.
